Christmas Sparkle

I always associate Christmas with red and sparkles. Usually I would go with a sparkly eyeliner, but I decided to do something different this year. It's a combination of my favorites - bit of sparkle, red lip and winged liner.

I wanted this makeup look to be simple, but still a bit sparkly. First I used mix of two warm matte brown shades to slightly define my crease. The star of the look is winged liner, so I skipped any eyeshadow on the actual lid. For the eyeliner I used burgundy shade to do a basic wing. I applied warmer and lighter red shade on top of burgundy and tried to blend it in. I also set it with a red eyeshadow to diffuse the edges a bit and make it slightly softer.

I used the same browns on my lower lash line. In the inner corners I started by applying a creamier shimmery light yellow gold eyeliner as a base. On top of that I put a mix of copper gold bigger glitter and smaller metallic gold glitter. I actually decided to extend the shimmer up in the inner corners pass the crease and also made it slightly longer on the inner corner of the lower lash line. It makes the look slightly more sparkly and offsets the wing on the other side.

I usually can't be bothered to apply false lashes, because I always struggle with them, so I just applied a bit of mascara and half lashes. Half lashes are shorter and can be applied only on the outer half of the lash line, so it sticks better and looks more natural. I choose style that wings out, because it suits my winged liner well. Unfortunately, camera never picks up glitter as nice as it looks in the real life. It looks much more sparkly as glitter catches the light.

I did my usual face paint - foundation, concealer and powder. For this warm red look I also needed to bronzed myself up with a bit of bronzer to add me warmth and color. I used gold champagne highlighter to match my sparkly eye inner corners. For the blush I went with a muddy redish color that looks natural and pairs with red lipstick, but I applied it fairly light.

For the lips I went with a very bright orange red, my favorite. These colors make a statement and make me feel happy. Sometimes I can look paler with a brighter color, so I usually just use a bit of bronzer and that makes it more wearable.

Red eyeliner is one of my new favorite things to do. It just looks unusual because of the color, but kind of classic because of the wing. This look could be worn with a more neutral lip color, but why not use the red. It just gives the complexion that oomph and makes it look more lively. I also like that it's not too glittery, but just gives you that lovely sparkle in the inner corners.

Review: Avon Shine Attract lipstick in Caressing Coral

Hey Beauties!

Today's review is about another Avon product, which I wanted to buy for a while and I did now, when I saw that they will discontinue this product. It's a lipstick, which is more like a colored lip balm.

The lipstick it's called Shine Attract and the shade I chose is Caressing Coral. Lipstick has a shiny silver packaging and a clear top. In the inner circle of the lipstick is a color and around it it's transparent gel. The middle produces color and the outer part produces moisture to the lips.

The application can be tricky, because the color transfers only to the inner part of the lips, since it's only in the middle of the lipstick. It's better to apply it and then smudge it around with either fingers, brush or by moving the lips.

It find it to be more of a colored lip balm. It is however more pigmented then a lip balm. It's one of those things perfect for someone who doesn't like lipsticks or wants a subtle color. I also find it would be great for summer, when I don't bother with lipsticks. The gel gives a bit of shine and moisture. It's pretty moisturizing on the lips, but after a while the moisture disappears. If you apply another coat it's back again. Of course it's not long lasting and you need to reapply it often.

The shade is orange toned red and it has a fairly visible shimmer in it - which I am not a fan. But thankfully the shimmer isn't that invisible, since it is somewhat a pink shade. I like the smell, which is a very subtle sweet smell.

Lipstick contains 6.6 grams and it costs 8 € full price, but it's often on sale. I bought it for 5.60 €.

Conclusion: pretty color, like the gel because it gives moisture, but that disappears after a while. Pretty packaging and hard to apply. If you don't buy it, you won't miss out on anything.

New Year's Eve makeup (gold green)

Hey Beauties!

We've survived Christmas, now it's time for New Year's Eve. Isn't it great this holiday season? So many excuses to make new makeup looks :). I feel like I tend to stay in my safe colors. Well, nothing has changed for this makeup look. But I promise, I will try to make a bit more colorful looks. It's hard, because I don't have the most pigmented colored eye shadows. I guess I really need to buy one of the Sleek palettes. Do you recommend any colorful palettes?

Now, let's get on with this look.

I started with forest green shade putting it into the crease. Then I put copper shade on the inner and outer third of the eye. In the middle I put gold shade.

I added copper shade on the center of lower lid. In the outer corner I put greenish brown shade. I did winged eye liner in black. I also darkened the crease a little with a greenish brown shade.

Then I took a gold glitter eye liner and put in on the lid all the way up to the crease and winged it out on top of black liner. I added mascara and false lashes. In the inner corner of the eye I put light gold shade as a highlight.

On the lips I put light warm nude lipstick that has a bit of gold shine to it.

That is a simple glitter eyes with pretty nude face. Gold glitter will pop anytime you'll look down or flirt with a cute guy ;). The focus is on the eyes and everything else is clean and easy to maintain.

If this is not enough color for you and you want a bit more, then just add red lipstick and the look becomes a lot more colorful. Don't forget to add a bit more of blush :).
