Tropical Eyes Makeup

Hey Beauties!

I get stuck in my neutral zone and I often use lighter shades on my eyes, especially when I have lighter hair like I have now. But since some of you commented that you seem to like darker shades on me and because I've been getting so much inspiration from makeup artists on Instagram, I finally did something colorful again - well colorful in my terms. You know me, I am always more of a wearable type of makeup lover, but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy combining colorful shades. Today's makeup is just that.

I started my eyes with a skin like matte shade all over the lid. Then I added taupe matte in the crease. I deepened it with matte dark brown. I also added matte petroleum shade to make it a bit more blue and green.

Then I added shimmery greyish blue on the center of the lid, but left out the inner part of the lid. There I went in with shimmery yellow toned green to make it look more tropical and less just blue. I also used taupe, brown and petroleum on the bottom lash line, but only in the outer corner.

In the center around lower lash line I applied turquoise khol to give some life and pop of color. I also added shimmery yellow green on the bottom and I applied shimmery light gold in the very inner corner of the eye. For eye liner I went with dark navy blue.

I finished the look with mascara. False lashes felt like too much, since I wanted this look to be wearable and for you to actually see the shades on my lid.

When I was deciding how to call this look, it just seemed very tropical to me. Shades of warm greens and blues are always on my mind when I think of paradise. Even though this is a bit darker look, I still think it reflects that mood.

Since eyes are fairly bold, I used BB cream for some luminosity and lightness. I covered imperfections with liquid concealer and powdered my face with loose powder. I also thought it would be only appropriate to bronze up the skin, if the look is tropical. For that I used matte warm bronzer. I contoured just a tiny bit and that was my cheekbones and nose. I also used metallic light gold highlighter on tops of cheeks, nose bridge, Cupid's bow and on top of brow arch. For blush I went with a mix of redish peach and brownish peach to look in tune with my hair color and not to overpower my eyes.

On the lips I used a very neutral lighter brown shade to make the eyes focal point. Obviously you can go bold on lips. Some orange reds would look amazing, but I wanted to keep it wearable and a bit understated.

Soft Coral Spring Makeup

Hey Beauties!

Spring is usually the time when most people love to wear a bit lighter glowy makeup to perk up the skin from winter dullness. I too seem to gravitate more towards lighter colors and especially a lot of glow in the spring time. Today's makeup is a lighter version of my usual makeup and looks pretty fresh and glowy.

On my eyes I started with beige matte shade all over the lids. Then I added lighter matte brown in the lid and darkened the outer corner with medium matte brown. I chose shimmery light peachy shade and applied it in the inner corner and all over the lid, but kept the outer corner out.

On the center of the lid I applied shimmery coral shade, which is still pretty light and sheered out. In the outer corner I used dark shimmery dark moss green shade to add slight green tint to it. Instead of black eye liner I used brown gel eye liner to make the look a bit softer.

I finished with black mascara.

On the rest of my face I used BB cream and liquid concealer. I also powdered a bit. To give my face a bit of color I lightly used matte bronzer all over my face. On my cheeks I applied shimmery coral blush with gold sheen. Then I added white pink highlighter on top of cheeks and mixed it in with blush to create really glowy cheeks.

I also wanted something soft and shiny on my lips so I created ombre lips. In the inner rim of lips I used matte orange lipstick. Then I took coral peachy lip gloss and applied it all over the lips to create that Korean like you've been sucking on popsickle look. I've been really loving wearing that kind of lip look lately.

What kind of makeup do you like to wear in the spring? Do you like shiny or bolder lipsticks?

Spring Fairy Makeup - Collaboration with Taya - My Little Beauty World

Hey Beauties!

Tatjana and I decided to do another collaboration, since we have too many ideas and apparently too much time on our hands. Today it's about fairies, because in all fairness, it is the easiest to do. You can pretty much do what ever you like and still call it a fairy. Our fairies are spring fairies and I'm the good one (*angel emoji*) while she is the evil one. Needles to say that my look is softer and her's is a bit harsher. If you'd like to see what I created just scroll down.

I started my eye makeup by applying beige matte shade all over the lid. Then I used warm matte light brown in the crease. I used medium matte green all over the outer thirds of the lid, but concentrated it more on the outer corner.

Over the entire lid I applied shimmery golden olive shade, but left out the inner corner. There I placed warm shimmery yellow shade. On the bottom lash line I applied shimmery silvery olive eyeliner.

In the outer edge I applied the same golden olive shade to connect it to the upper lash line. I used gel eyeliner in a pencil form and created a winged liner starting from the center of the lid. I wanted the line to be thicker on the outside and not go all the way into the inner corner.

With this look I paired natural but volumizing false eyelashes.

I drew gold dots with gold liquid liner above my brows. I also used three different shades of creamy lip liner and drew flowers with them on the side of my eyes. In the center I used gold liquid liner as a center dot and also to create a few golden leaves around flowers. I also used brown brow pencil and drew freckles on my cheeks and nose. I though this would give me a more youthful and innocent look.

I've created plumpy glossy ombre look on my lips. I used fuchsia pink shade and applied it only on the inner part of the lips. Then I used peachy glossy products and applied it all over the lips and blended it together. On the cupids bow I applied white beige lip pencil to make it look even more plump.

I've had a few problems while creating this look, one of them being that my camera battery was empty, so I had to charge it multiple times and take photos through the course of few hours. That's why my lipstick got messed up a little and does not looks as perfect on my full face photos as it does on my lips on the photos above. I was so busy checking that my lashes are still sticking on, that I forgot to check my lips. Go figure.

Without false eyelashes and flowers on the sides, this is a wearable look and you can definitely rock it this spring. I love the ombre lips. Lately, I've been watching a lot of Korean inspired makeup tutorials, so I use this technique now too. It just looks very fresh and makes your lips look bigger, if you apply it properly and make it shiny. For some reason my eye makeup looks like it's not blended, but in real life it looked blended. My camera is playing tricks on me.

Tatjana did and amazing evil spring fairy makeup looks, so go check it out. It's sort of the opposite of what I was trying to achieve.  Always fun to work with you Tatjana ;).

She's definitely my partner in crime when it comes to makeup and the fact that we both live in the same region, just helps us to also talk some more in person.

Feline Flick and Cut Crease

Hey Beauties!

Doing very precise or straight lines is hard to do on my eyes, because I have two very different eyes. One is lower than the other and then I always pull one higher up when I try to open up my eyes. Sure, no one has exactly the same eye shapes, but let's face it, some are very symmetrical. Mine are the furthest away from it. So, I try to avoid very precise harsh lines. I still wanted to do this feline flick with the cut crease and I actually think it still works for my slightly hooded eyes.

I started with light beige matte shade all over the lid. With light brown matte I started to shape out my cut crease. I wanted something softer, but still like it is cut in the crease. I also pulled it out in the outer corner and a bit up. Then I darkened the edge of the crease with darker matte brown shade.

I applied peachy gold shimmery shade as a contrast to matte crease and tried to make a more definite line. Then I applied eyeliner in a feline flick shape. Elongated and a bit up toward the outside. I also set it with black matte eyeshadow.

On the lower lash line I just applied light and dark matte brown shade. The eye look was finished with coats of mascara. No false lashes, because then I would basically hide the cut crease.

On the rest of the face I used foundation and my usual concealer. Then I set it all with powder. I also warmed up my skin with warm shade of matte bronzer, all over the outer edges. Of course, this look also needed some very glowy champagne highlighter and brownish peach matte blush.

I went very neutral on the lips with a peachy brown lip liner, because I wanted all the focus to be on the eyes.

I love how different types of eyeliners can change the shape of your eyes. It's fun to play around sometimes and try something different. The makeup itself is very neutral and I believe very wearable, since I did go for a softer cut crease.

Whimsical Wintery Makeup

Hey Beauties!

Did you see Katy Perry in H&M commercial? I thought her eye makeup looked so pretty. After that I saw Nikki Tutorials do inspired makeup by her fairy look in commercial and I had to do my take on it. I call it a whimsical wintery makeup.

I started with applying skin like shade all over the lid. Then I did my usual crease with matte brown shade. I used a mixture of light pink and gold in the inner corner of my eye.

In the inner part of the lid I applied a mixture of pink shades. On the other side, outer corner of the lid, I applied a mixture of purple shades. Center of the lid was filled with light blue shade.

To intensify light colors, I used metallic liquid eye shadow and went over blue with silver blue metallic shade and over pink with pink metallic shade to add even more glitter and sheen to it. On the bottom I used the same matte brown shade that I used in the crease and I applied mixture of purples to the outer edge to connect with upper lid. To ground pastel shades, I decided to use black liquid liner. I applied it in elongated way, going thinner in the inner corner and coming to a thicker on the outside corner.

I applied black mascara and decided to skip false lashes, because I wanted it to be colorful, yet very wearable.

I applied high coverage foundation and concealed where it was needed. Then I apply a bit of powder. I contoured with a contouring shade and applied shiny gold highlighter. I also very lightly applied pink blush.

On my lips I used a mix of pink and purple lip crayon. I applied pink all over the lips and then I tried to darken the edges a bit with purple. Oh and I had to show you my matching purple-ish nails.

This is my way of adding a bit of light color to a very wearable makeup look. I think this could be even nice for Christmas parties for those of you, who don't like to go all out. It definitely has a more whimsical wintery feel to it and I like how the shades blended together.
