Review: Plantae Bitter Orange Blossom Spritz and Sea Buckthorn Berry Night Cream

I've already spoken a bit about Plantae, so I won't go into brand details. You can read it here. I love their Rose Hip + Fruit Seed Serum. It's the best thing for dry skin or colder months in general. This time, I've been trying out their spritz and night cream.

Plantae Bitter Orange Blossom Spritz

It's from their Flower Power range which should balance and brighten normal or combination skin. It comes in a plastic white bottle with a spritz top. In it is 100 grams of product and it costs 22.14€ here

Spritz produces good amount of mist, which is quite fine. It definitely wets your face. I usually use two to three spritzes for the whole face. There's just something about this spray version of toner that I love. It's that first refreshing boost after you've taken off makeup or would like to apply some on.

Key ingredients are grape seed extract which is a superfruit and potent antioxidant. It should make skin firmer and hydrated due to its extremely high polyphenol antioxidant activity. In it is also bitter orange flower oil which is detoxifying, refining and regenerative. Other two main ingredients are also mandarin peel and lemon balm

As I've already mention, I love the refreshing zesty citrus refreshment that this gives to my skin. I use it as a toner after I cleanse my skin or before I put any skin care on. It has lovely citrus, but also bitter, scent to it. Almost smells like when you're peeling off grapefruit or lemon.

I like to use it with thicker creams, because the wetness of it helps me to spread on creams. It soaks into the skin quickly and doesn't leave behind any layer. You do slightly feel like you have something on top which I like. Sometimes, my skin can feel a bit dry after washing it, so I use this as a first product to return some moisture back into the skin. I can't notice any major nourishment or moisturizing effect, but it feels light on the skin and the skin doesn't feel like it's tightening.

I've been using it a lot while being on sun and I've noticed that the skin didn't get darker spots. I wouldn't say it's brightening, but it definitely prevents additional hyper pigmentation which I sometimes worsen on holiday.

It's suitable for normal to combination skin, as it says. It's not for dry skin, because it's not moisturizing enough.

Plantae Sea Buckthorn Berry Night Cream

Night cream is from their Berry Bliss range which means it's suitable for dry or damaged skin and it should renew and replenish the skin. It comes also in a plastic white bottle with a pump top. In it is 50 grams of product and it costs 43.29€ here (currently on sale for 34.64€).

Pump works good and you can really control the amount of product from tiniest amount possible to a whole pump. I usually use a pump and a half for my whole face and neck. The only problem is that small amount of product that stays in the end of pump and dries up. It's wasting a bit of product

It contains organic anti-aging plant complex for exceptional circulatory and anti-aging properties to promote smoother and healthier skin. Main ingredient is organic sea buckthorn berry which is an enriched plant source of natural vitamin C and omega 7 and it promotes skin elasticity and hydration. Another main ingredient is rosehip fruit which is a rich source of omega 5, 6 and 9  and beta-carotene and lycopene antioxidants to help protect skin from premature aging. Some other ingredients are also  evening primrose oil, borage, auvergne pine bark, blackcurrant leaf and damask rose otto oil

It's a nourishing, restorative cream that should stimulate cell turnover and tissue repair

It has a firm texture, but is not thick. It feels very lightweight and it has a smooth buttery consistency. In some ways it feels water based, but it also has some greasiness to it. It goes on light yellow and you need to massage it into the skin. It leaves behind light layer of oiliness which feels lovely because it soothes the skin and really sticks to it. It can feel a bit sticky even after it soaks in.

It's a night cream and I love the greasy layer of it, because it means it will stay on the skin for longer. It's not heavy or very rich, so it's more suitable for combination to normal skin, maybe even lightly dry. If you're skin is too dry, this won't be enough on its own. I have a combination skin and it was perfect for warmer months, but it's not rich enough for colder months. I usually combine it with their serum, which is more of an oil, and it works great together.

It has a specific strong natural and herbal scent. Some might hate it, but I've gotten used to it.

In the morning my skin feels nourished and looks plumped. It's not greasy, but just looks normal and well hydrated. As for the renewing claims goes, I think it definitely helps with renewing skin's surface a little, but if you have major pimples that you've picked, this on it's own won't be enough. For that I would highly recommend you the serum, which really helps with that.

I don't expect much from toners. Usually they're my first boost of moisture and this one also feels really refreshing, It's actually perfect for the summer. It restores ph balance and prepares skin for other products. Night cream is lovely and feels very soothing on the skin. It's lightweight, but still has some oiliness to it which keeps skin hydrated and nourished. It works great for normal to combination skin. For dry skin, combine all of these with their serum and you have a winning combination.

Obožujem njihov Serum iz plodov in semen šipka. Tokrat sem preizkušala tonik in nočno kremo.

Pršilo prši fino meglico in ravno dovolj izdelka.

Spodbujajo elastičnost kože in jo vlažijo.

Ni mastna, ampak dobro navlažena in zdravo sijoča.

New In (5)

In last couple of month there have been some new makeup releases and I've had the chance to buy some brands that I usually don't get to see in person. I've mostly bought makeup. You'll also find some skin care and hair care in this post.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

While I was in France (read more about it here), I had to visit a few French pharmacies. There're known for having a lot of french skin care brands at lower prices. A lot of those pharmacies also carry larger sizes at a lower price. I got Bioderma Sensibio H2O micellar water, because it was 1+1 offer. This is my absolute favorite eye makeup remover, because it's the most sensitive micellar I've ever tried.

Batiste Wild Dry Shampoo

No, I still don't have enough of these. I think the obsession is getting ridiculous. Whenever I see one of these, I just grab it. To be honest, Wild is my favorite scent and I can't get it in our country, so it was worth buying it.

Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

This was one of the biggest purchases ever and I'm still not sure it was worth it. It's a lovely neutral palette. There's combination of warm and cool tones and one pop of blue. Some are already my favorites. In general, I don't think this is worth the price, at least not to me. I prefer Zoeva eye shadow textures and I think I might just buy those in the future (unless they decide to go up with their prices again). If the palette would have more my kind of shades, I would probably think differently about it.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original

This has already impressed me so much. It's very sheer and looks like nothing on the lids, but it holds eye makeup so well. Whenever I wear this underneath, my eyeshadow never creases. I might even need to consider buying a full version.

Benefit They're Real! Mascara

I've grown to love this. At first I hated it, because it was just too wet. Actually it still is. I take most of it off and build it up slowly. It gives nice volume, but too much can make my lashes look a bit clumpy. I love the fact that it also makes my lashes a bit longer and it holds the curl well.

Kiko Flawless Fusion Bronzer Powder 01 Natural Tan

I love this magnetic packaging so much that I just had to get another product and it was bronzer. Shade 01 is pretty light and it's too light for my summer tan now. It's neutral, almost a bit more redish based than orange and it doesn't look flat out matte, which I like. So far I'm loving it.

Kiko Nail Lacquer (L to R): 479 Pearly Golden Sesame, 511 Metallic Mercury Purple, 372 Nude, 338 Light Lavender and 497 Pearly Indian Violet

Kiko nail polishes are probably my favorite nail polishes of all time. They have a huge selection of colors and they last fairly well on my weak nails. When I saw that these were on sale for only 1€, I had to get them. I chose a lot of shimmery shades, because I already have a lot of creamy shades at home and those looked more unique. I love that Kiko makes interesting unique shades that you can't always find among other drugstore brands.

Plantae Sea Buckthorn Berry Night Cream*

I haven't fully made up my mind about these two products. This night cream has an interesting very natural herbal scent. It's lightweight and absorbs well into the skin. I'm not sure if this will be enough for colder months, but for now it nicely nourishes the skin

Plantae Bitter Orange Blossom Spritz*

I love the scent of this spritz. It's very bitter orange, very natural. It feels refreshing and adds slight layer of moisture to prepare the skin for further skin care. I love the feel of it on my face and I usually spritz quite a lot of it on. It's also great as a moist base that helps to absorb other products better.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Contouring Pencil in 071 Cherry Kiss and 011 Spice

I bought a few Rimmel products, because they were also on sale. In colder months, especially in fall, I love to use darker lipsticks and I love to line my lips with lip liners. I've tried these in the store and the formula seemed really buttery, but not too creamy. I got one purple shade for all my plum lipsticks and one darker peachy nude for all my neutral lipsticks. I haven't tried them on my lips yet.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 010 Santa Rose

I saw this blush on Mateja and knew I had to get it. It's very pretty light peachy blush with almost brick undertone. It has very small silver shimmer in it that gives it a lovely sheen. The thing I like the most about it is how light it is. You can go from barely there blush to a bit more intense look.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levre Barrier Repairing Balm

Since colder month are inevitably approaching, I'm already thinking of my lip care. I tend to get really dry cracked lips and it's always mission impossible to find products that repair them as quickly as possible. I saw this repairing balm on sale and decided to give it a try. It's a thicker transparent cream that leaves a rather moisturizing buttery layer on the lips. I haven't used it a lot yet.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick

Another Mateja enabled purchase. She swears by it and since it was on sale, I gave it a go. It's actually a really light, buttery but not sticky formula. I love the scent of it, which kind of reminds me of cocoa. When I was reading about best natural remedies for cracked lips, cocoa butter was mentioned a lot. I have cocoa and coconut butter at home and it actually worked really soothing, so I like this one too. It's not a heavy duty lip balm, more so a good regular daily balm.

Catrice Lash Dresser Comb Mascara

This was a surprise. I knew I wanted it, when I saw that it has a comb like brush. It defines the lashes for a very natural, but defined look. It can absolutely give you volume as well, but you'll need more than just one coat. Too much of it can look a bit clumpy. I love this for definition, because it really makes the lashes look defined and separated.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London

I adore mousse texture of these. They're in my opinion best matte liquid lipsticks for those that have dry lips. They're lightweight and don't dry out the lips. I wanted yet another nude shade - London. It's a perfect warm peach based brown. I adore it.

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation

I've heard that some people love it and on others it oxidizes. I've been mixing it with other foundations, because shade 01 is too light for me right now, so I need to test it out a bit more. But so far I like semi matte finish of it and the fact that it feels very lightweight on the skin. It also lasts really well on my skin. I'll have to check if this oxidizes on me, when my skin gets a bit lighter. I also don't find it completely matte. Maybe it's because I use very moisturizing creams underneath it.

Rose Gold Brush Set

I saw these on Makeupsavvy and ordered some for myself. It was a purchase out of curiosity. They looked pretty and I am a bit obsessed with makeup brushes. Since I own some Zoeva brushes, I can safely say that the quality of these is absolutely not the same. Some are better than others.

Buffing foundation brush is soft, fairly dense and does a nice job of blending out foundation. I haven't tried cheek and contour brush yet. Small shader is lovely for underneath lower lash line or for detailed work. It's dense and fairly soft. Angled liner brush is too long for my liking and not dense enough. White shader is a bit fluffier than I expected it too be and scratchy in my opinion. I haven't tried brow brush, because it's too big for my liking. Blending white brush is also scratchy as white shader and I don't like it at all.

got2b 2 Sexy Big Volume Spray Powder

It's basically like a texturizing spray. It's like a mix of hair spray and a bit of dry shampoo. The scent of it is very sweet and smells like artificial raspberries. It actually gives a bit of volume and texture to the hair, but it's till very lightweight.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat

I bough this in hopes of finding a good Seche Vite dupe. I only tried it once so far. It dries really quickly, doesn't smudge base color and makes my nails slightly stronger. I don't know how long lasting it is yet. Hopefully, this is as long lasting as Seche Vite, but we'll see.

Sleek Highlighting Palette in Solstice

I heard so much about this palette and was sure that I wouldn't like it. Shades in the pan look totally different and scarily colorful. But once you apply these on the skin, they all look very white based and very reflective. I haven't tried all the shades yet, but those that I have, have impressed me. What I find the most interesting about this palette is the fact that all highlighters have really reflective quality to it. They don't seem heavy on the skin, almost a bit transparent and invisible. You don't see that usually heavy powder swatch, but once you move your head this shines like crazy. It's a really bright in your face highlight and I love it.

Avon Nutra Effects Velvet Soft Moisture With Shia Seeds For Body, Face and Hands*

Avon Nutra Effects Hydration Daily Cream is my favorite face cream. I use it every day and I must be on my third or fourth pot. They also have gel version, which is better for hotter days. I was super excited to see that they also made a larger version for body, face and hands. I've only tried it on my hands so far. It's almost like a mix of daily and gel version. It has a subtle, almost a bit natural scent to it. I like that it's buttery and leaves a bit of that moisturizing layer on my hands. So far I love it.

Review: Plantae Rose Hip Fruit + Seed Serum

Hey Beauties!

Plantae is new brand on Slovenian market. It's organic skin care brand from New Zealand. Their products have BioGro certificate which is comparable to European EcoCERT. Every products contains at least 95% certified organic ingredients.  Other ingredients are also of natural origin without GMOs or other harmful ingredients. You can read more about the brand here

Plantae has three collections. Lush Leaves to refine and refresh oily or blemished skin, Flower Power to balance and brighten normal or combination skin and Berry Bliss to renew and replenish dry or damaged skin.

I got their Rose Hip Fruit and Seed Serum for dry to damaged skin from their Berry Bliss line. Serums are probably my favorite skin care products besides AHAs and BHAs. You could easily live off of serum and forget moisturizer, if you have good serum.

It comes in dark green bottle with dropper. Their whole range is white and green with simplistic design that I like. In it is 30 grams of products and it costs 44.90$ or 30.28€

It's concentrated facial serum with organic supercritical extracts from the whole  rose hip berry

Dropper has a curved tip which is probably meant for you to hold it straight and you don't need to bend it in order to get product out. I found it a bit odd in the beginning, but I got used to it.

Packaging is definitely secure and there's no spillage. It also has darker bottle to prevent damage of ingredients

Key ingredients of this serum are rose hip, rosemary, rose and sandalwood.

I have already used rose hip oil before and loved it. It's probably the most versatile oil to use on anyone's face. This serum also contains organic rose hip oil which is very rich in antioxidants, which include a lot of vitamin C, lycopene and cartenoids. It has high concentration of omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids which improve skin firmness and elasticity

It also contains organic steam distilled rosa damascena flower oil which gently firms and strengthens the collagen-elastin network due to cytophylactic properties. Rose oil produces mild toning and astringent effect on facial capillaries

Organic rosemary supercritical extract is protective antioxidant with repairing and anti-irritant properties and it also tones, firms and revitalizes the skin.

It has a very natural ingredients list with a lot of good plant extracts.

It should improve texture, tone and luminosity for lucent, glowing skin. It's ideal for dry skin types, but other skin types will also benefit from it.

It also claims to increase human skin fibroblast in culture by at least 200%.  I hat to google what fibroblasts are and they are those cells that are responsible for generating connective tissue and allowing the skin to recover from injury.

For some reason I expected it to be thinner and lighter, but it's actually like a diluted face oil. I would say almost a mix of oil and regular serum consistency

If you've ever tried pure rose hip oil, you'll know that it has a fairly strong yellow color and so does this serum. It's not as thick and greasy as pure rose hip oil. It's a bit runnier and it's fairly lightweight on the skin. It leaves your skin shiny, but doesn't seem to stain it or my pillow either.

It has a much more pleasant scent than pure rose hip oil. It's definitely more of a herbal plant scent with slight sweetness. If you're used to artificial skin care scents, you'll have to get used to this one. I though it was a bit strong in the beginning, but then I got used to it.

It soaks into the skin nicely, but still leaves greasy shiny layer on top like thicker versions of dry oils.

I've been using this for a little over month and a half. I apply two to three drops in the evening on my entire face. My skin has been looking really well these past months. Apart from some hormonal breakouts, it's been on its best behavior. I think I can definitely blame it on this serum.

It really nourishes and moisturizes my skin through the night. I also felt like my skin was a lot softer in the morning. my favorite benefit that I've noticed since using it is that it clears up my skin and keeps it bright. I am a picker, and I love to pick on my pimples. When I have pimple scars, this serum noticeably reduces the scarring, which supports fibroblast theory.

Even though it is fairly greasy, almost a thinner oil, I still love it for summer. Because the vitamin C brightens up my complexion and I believe rose hip oil to be great for sun burns. It also feels very calming and not one bit irritating.

I think that oily skins might want to be careful with serum, especially in the summer, because it's more like a lightweight oil. For every other skin type, this is going to be amazing. I would definitely recommend it to those with dry skin and hyper pigmentation.

To conclude, I really like this serum. It's definitely more of a light oil than regular thinner serums. I felt like it really made my skin nourished, plump and all in all better looking. I loved that it helped to heal my pimple scars quicker and because of vitamin C it's great for summer and brightening up skin complexion. It has natural, but fairly strong scent. If you're conscious about what you're putting on your skin, you'll love it. A lot of organic natural ingredients. Highly recommend it to anyone with dry, damaged and normal or combination skin. For oily skins I can't say how it will be, weather or not it would be too oily for your liking.

I also have a code for you - "adjustingbeauty" and with it you can get 10% off your order here

And there's more. You can also win some of their skin care products by entering their giveaway here. One of the prices is also this serum. With some luck you'll be the one who gets it.

Vsak njihov izdelek vsebuje vsaj 95% certificiranih organskih sestavin. Tudi preostale sestavine so naravnega izvora brez gensko spremenjenih organizmov ali drugih škodljivih sestavin. Več o Plantae si lahko preberete tukaj.

Plantae ima tri kolekcije. Lush Leaves osveži in obnovi mastno in nečisto kožo, Flower Power uravnoteži normalno in kombinirano kožo in Berry Bliss obnovi in dopolni suho in poškodovano kožo.

Glavne sestavine seruma so šipek, rožmarin, vrtnica in sandalovina.

Sestavine so odlične, vsebuje veliko naravnih ekstraktov.

Preko noči moja koža postane lepo navlažena in negovana.

June 2016 Favorites

Hey Beauties!

In June I have been trying out a lot of new products and a lot of those ended up in my monthly favorites. A lot of my makeup favorites have been similar to my May 2016 Favorites, so I didn't want to repeat myself this month.

Lysaskin Laboratories Atolys Cleansing and Relipidifying Gel

On SummerMBeauty event we got some personalized products according to our skin description. I got this cleansing gel which is for dry skin and skin with atopic tendencies. I still have occasional problems with my skin allergy and products that are targeted toward sensitive skin usually work great with my skin. This is clear gel which feels super gentle on the skin. It creates gentle foam and washes the face without stripping it of its natural moisture. It has seriously impressed me and I will definitely do a separate review on it. In Slovenia you can get it here

Plantae Rose Hip Fruit + Seed Serum

Rose hip oils is probably one of the best widely used oils. It's pretty much good for all skins. It has various benefits and is great for dry skin, aging skin and perfect for treating damaged skin or getting rid of hyper pigmentation. My first rose hip oil was from Kahne. Initially, I thought that this was going to be serum, so lighter and not oily, but it's actually thinned out, a bit more liquid version of pure rose hip oil. I use this at night and my skin in the morning is well moisturized, smooth and just looks healthy. This is perfect for summer, since we tend to get a lot of sun spots or for treating sun burns as well. Full review of this will be on my blog soon. In Slovenia you can get it here

H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher - Apricot

H&M blushes have really impressed me with their quality and especially shade range. I already have Brown Sugar which is brownish peach shade. Apricot was on sale and of course I couldn't resist it after reading about it on Kvinatopia. Apricot is light peachy almost a bit pinky warm shade. It's lighter and a lot peachier than Brown Sugar. This one, as well, has that beautiful satin finish to it. I think I definitely need more of their shades. I love how most of their shades seem kind of muted, light and not typically bright as most blushes in drugstores.

Avon Glow  Bronzing Pearls - Pink Bronze

I already have a review of these here. They are light peach shimmery pearls that I've been loving as a blush. It gives a nice luminous finish and is light enough to make your skin look slightly glowy and almost a bit bronzed, if you're light like me. This is the type of product that you can put all over the skin when you're in a hurry and it would instantly give you some dimension and glow.

Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick Contour & Highlight - 01 Light

Finding shimmery stick bronzer and highlighter is not as hard as finding matte stick contour that is affordable. Especially in our drugstores, I find that the offer on these is very limited. I was so happy to see the lightest shade in our store (finally something light!). It's easier to use than it looks. You put one side against your cheeks and draw and then you turn it around and draw the other shade. This blend out like a dream, isn't too greasy and the shades are actually light enough for fair skin tones. I don't care much about highlight, but the contour is great. I will also do a full review on it.

Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad - Sun Washed Blooms

Shade 3 in particular, is the one that I'm mentioning here. It's one of the prettiest matte fuchsia shades that I've seen in a while. I feel like Avon stepped up their game with matte eye shadows and they are more pigmented than in some previous quads. I really like this shade, because I love purple eye shadows. Most of them are usually cool toned, very blue based and this one is a nice exception. Review of this palette will come soon.

Avon Glow Kajalstick - Warm Sand

I've already talked about these kajalstick here. Shade Warm Sand has the best inner corner highlight shade for my personal taste. It's light peach shade with lost of shimmer in it. I've been using this a lot this month. Black matte on the other side is just as good and I've been doing my eyeliner with pens a lot. For some reason, I can't be bother with full on liquid liner in summer months. Maybe because it can look really harsh and I prefer pens for a more natural look.

Belweder Lip Balm Stick - Melissa, Green Tea, Propolis

A few days ago I posted about these natural Belweder lip balms and the green tea scent was definitely my favorite. In the regular stick form that is, because I found it to be a bit more nourishing than other egg like versions. As you can see, I've almost used it up. The scent is just such a nice refreshment from all those usual sweet fruity scents and I really like the formula for daily hydration, especially in summer months. It's not too greasy, but not too light.

Avon Ultra Glazewear Lip Gloss - Rose Reflection

Avon recently came out with four lip gloss shades that have shimmery particles in it. I admit, I was intrigued looking at them in the catalog, because some seemed really metallic. The shades actually look very different in real life and I'll probably post a full review of them. Shade Rose Reflection impressed me the most and that is because it has the most golden sheen out of all other shades. The base is transparent pink, but shimmer in it is gold. I've been loving putting this one over lip stains or light lipsticks for added shine and especially warmth of golden shimmer. You can see me wearing it over mauve lipstick here. In the summer I always love a good shiny lip. Mattes can sometimes look too overdone in hot summery days.

Ebelin Professional Precision Make Up Blender

I didn't even know that Ebelin came out with another, better makeup sponge version. I saw how soft it was on Maestraparokeets Instagram and decided to try it out. It's in fact miles away from their other versions that I talked about here. This one is a lot softer and it blends like a dream. I also find that it cleans up better than the other version. Don't really understand why they decided to glue together three different foam colors in one blender, but fine. I just hope that it will last and won't get too damaged because of its softness.

Avon Makeup Setting Spray

I've been using this like there's no tomorrow. In Slovenia the weather this month has been proper summer. It's hot and my makeup is always luminous and dewy, whether I want it or not. This setting spray is the only thing that keeps my makeup from running off of my face. It definitely helps to prolong the wear of makeup. I think I must be spraying too much of it on my face, because it definitely feels like a heavier layer and it even tightens my skin a bit. But you know, better safe than sorry.

Avon Little Black Dress Eau Fraiche and Avon Little Red Dress

My fragrance choice for this month are those two Avon Little Dress versions. Little Black Dress Eau Fraiche is for really hot days, since it's a slight bit fresher and greener, but still very much in my sweet family. On those not super hot days, I've been loving Little Red Dress, because it's a lot sweeter and fruitier. I really like these and they are not too strong for the summer, well at least if you're sweet kind of lover like me. I already wrote review of them here
