Gr’s Summary
Two months after dying, seventeen-year-old witch Graylee Perez wakes up in her twin sister Charlene’s body.

Until Gray finds a way back inside her own body, she’s stuck being Charlene every twenty-hour hours. Her sister has left precise instructions on how Gray should dress and behave. Looking like a prep isn’t half as bad as hanging out with Charlene’s snotty friends and gropey boyfriend.

The “normals” of McKinley High might be quick to write her behavior off as post-traumatic stress, but warlock Raj McKenna is the only person who suspects Gray has returned from the dead.

Now Gray has to solve the mystery of her death and resurrection and disentangle herself from Charlene’s body before she disappears for good.

***Entangled is a young adult paranormal fantasy romance suitable for ages 15 and up.**

The Way I See It

Hey y’all!  Okay let me start of by saying... This.Cover.Is.Beautiful.  It’s Enchanting!  Truly!  I was drawn to it right away, and boy was I right!  It called to me, and I’m glad it did because, I really enjoyed this book!  Ms. Jefford has a way of pulling you into the story, and holding fast at every turn.  I felt as though I was walking down the halls of Graylee’s High School, alongside her.  I didn’t know what to expect, because I haven’t had much experience reading about witches.  I must say I was thoroughly entertained. There were certain parts of this book that had me laughing out loud! Other parts had me cringing along with Gray, and wanting to strangle her Bee-yotch of a sister!  I could not put this book down, and I felt hungry for more with each turn of the page!  I enjoyed devouring this book and every moment of it!  I really felt for all of the characters.  There are certain betrayals that can never be forgiven or forgotten, Entangled shows us that.  I found this story was one of loss, betrayal, discovery, love, acceptance, renewal, and second chances.  I am looking forward to continuing this series...I can’t wait to see what Lee and Raj have in their future.

My Fav’s

Graylee

She is the good twin...Kind, honest, and real.  She is a powerful witch, who has to fight daily against a spell she doesn’t even know exists.  Gray teaches herself some powerful magic, that not many witches can perform.  Without warning, she falls for the gorgeous “bad boy,” that is surrounded by mystery.  Her antics, sense of humor, and determination easily put her on my fav’s list.

Raj
Tall, dark, mysterious, and handsome outcast. He is under a spell.  One that no one cast, but Gray...  From the moment he saw her. He doesn’t verbally express his feelings about Gray, but his love for her resonates throughout the pages.  He is willing to do anything for her.  From the very beginning, I enjoyed watching them blossom together...I am looking forward to seeing their love fully bloom.

My Rating

4.0 Moon stone, Valentine's Day, Healer, Faulty breaks, Poison, Invisibility, Second-Chance filled stars!!! For those looking to escape in a fun highly entertaining read, get this book NOW!!

Gr’s summary
Love or life. Henry or their child. The end of her family or the end of the world. Kate must choose.

During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can't stop her--until Cronus offers a deal.

In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.

With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.

Even if it costs her eternity

The Way I See it
Okay, I’m an emotional bucket of tears, sobs, longing, and wishing. What a great read! You all know I loved Goddess Interrupted, well the praise goes well into Goddess Inheritance. It was so intense. A. Carter continues to keep you strapped in, and turning the pages frantically. I did not want to put Goddess Inheritance down, and when I did, all I could do was think about the next time I would get to read it! Kate has never been a warrior, and she doesn’t become one over night, but her character development is perfect! She still made mistakes but, she finally started taking chances...I was just waiting for her “light bulb” moment and was so relieved when it came! Remember that crazy cliffhanger I talked about before? Boy oh boy, does Calliope ever do a doozy on us?! Heart wrenching, crazy, omg, I cried so much and I’m still crying but I won’t talk about it cause I want you to read it for yourself! However, I want to take a moment and tell everyone no matter what Cronus did, how many people he hurt I could not hate him. Maybe its the little “Kate” in me but I just couldn’t do it. Would you not one day become the darkness that surrounds you, if you were imprisoned in it for eons? If you answered no then you are purely and truly good. I don’t think I would want to rip the world apart but I also don’t think I would walk away the same. I love these characters so much! Henry hacked me off a bit in the second Goddess Test book but he more than made up for it in this one. I can honestly say with 100% conviction Henry loves Kate and that makes me happy, happy, happy. :) I don’t want to say goodbye I hope we get more of these fabulous characters...I distinctly remember James promising Kate something and Kate having a job to do...**fingers crossed?**

My Fav’s

Henry
He has been hurt in the past so it has hardened him. After the end of book two we know exactly how he feels. He doesn’t hold back, not once. Henry is determined to rip the world apart to ensure the safety of his family and will not stop at anything. All of my doubts of his love and fealty towards Kate are completely eradicated in this installment. A little part of me fell in love with him for it.

Ava
Goddess of Love the one thing she does best in this world is love. Ava has made some horrible mistakes. Trust me when I say, she spends every single day paying for them. Her love and care for Milo really cements Kate's gratitude. In the end Ava is put to the ultimate test and makes a tremendous sacrifice I never say coming! SHOCKING SHOCKER SHOCKER!!!

My Rating
4.5 Rhea, Kick a**, White Light, Beautiful Horizon, Piercing dagger, Eternal, Love Filled Stars! What a great book with great characters! Go and grab your copy!

Gr’s summary
Kate Winters has won immortality. But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she'll have to fight for it.  Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.

Henry's first wife, Persephone

The Way I See it
The cover is absolutely beautiful and this seemed like a great Olympian adaptation! Bingo Bango...Was I right, I’m typing this up with a cat that ate the canary smile;) I really enjoyed this book, Ms. Carter pulls you into her world and keeps you strapped in! I didn’t always agree with Kate, but I loved that her “moral” code was truly pure. There were times I found myself saying “Kate, wake up already!  Just Do It!  If you want it...Go.Get.It.,” and there were times I wanted to shake her, and times I wanted to hug her. I don’t have to agree with a characters actions to enjoy reading, but I do have to understand where they’re coming from. Kate might not have the most self confidence, but come on, she’s surrounded by God’s, and she’s just recently been made one herself. The fact that she contends and follows her heart, shows a lot of courage!  James and Ava made the story very enjoyable.  You gotta love the supporting cast, without them my heroine would have been all alone.  Also, Something I NEVER saw happening took place, and I was like...”What the bleep!” I wanted to hate Persephone, but I had to agree with James, every one deserves to be happy. (It doesn’t mean I have to like her either.)  I’m glad she does what she did.  We all know how selfish she is, but at the end of the day all she wants is Henry’s happiness.  Speaking of the end of the day, Holy brutal cliffhanger Hera!!  Jeez, so glad the next book comes out in a few days!  Y’all are going to want to pick it up right away!  I highly recommend this book.  It's a great great read!

My Fav’s
James
He has his flaws, but he loves Kate, and wants her to be happy happy happy!  I can’t, and won’t fault him for that!  He seemed to hold back somewhat, but all and all, I could tell his feelings were genuine.  He has had to deal with being a shadow, and he has had loss in his time.  I truly hope he finds his H.E.A.

Kate
So Y’all know I like my girls to “kick a**!”  Well, Kate is comparable to a lamb, but she is in the midst of Gods that have ruled, and protected humanity since the dawn of time. That would be “intimidating” to say the least!  We have always seen the Gods be selfish, vindictive, and all around cruel. Kate stays true to herself, and is unwavering.  I love her for that.  She might not be a “bad a**,” but her moral compass, and will to do the right thing make her top-notch!  That is why I love her :)

My Rating
4.0 Cronus, Golden Haired, Greece, Stolen Kisses, Snowing Filled Stars! This was a delightfully fun read! Go and grab your copy!

GR’s Summary

When Native American Fredricka ‘Fred’ Oday is invited to become the only girl on the school’s golf team, she can’t say no. This is an opportunity to shine, win a scholarship and go to university, something no one in her family has done.

But Fred’s presence on the team isn’t exactly welcome — especially not to rich golden boy Ryan Berenger, whose best friend was kicked off the team to make a spot for Fred.

But there’s no denying that things are happening between the girl with the killer swing and the boy with the killer smile...

GET HOOKED ON A GIRL NAMED FRED.

The way I see it

The cover of this book did a number on me! GAW-JES!! So you’ve read the summary above right? Do it, then tell me your not curious, and I’ll call you a liar! Let me just say... I’m Hooked on Hooked. ;) First of all, I wasn’t too sure about Fred, but wow she is such a beautiful person that you cant help but fall in love with her and her odd name. M’Kay, now lets talk about how original and refreshing this book was! It was different because Fred and Ryan are two of the unlikeliest people on the planet to come together. Some how thanks to the one thing these two love most in the world it becomes inevitable! Fred has some issues at home and Ryan does too, so I guess these two have more in common than we thought. Unfortunately due to Fred’s differences from all Ryan has known, she becomes the brunt of everyones ridicule. It takes something pretty drastic but I was SOOO relieved with Ryan’s decision. It was like a huge weight lifting off my shoulders. This book was so good it tugged and tugged at my heart strings. To me Hooked spoke of love, curiosity, revelations, deceit, ridicule, poor choices, regret, hard work, dedication, acceptance and reverence. When I finished reading after all of my crying, I had a huge smile on my face, I was so happy with the way it ended.

My Fav’s

Fred
Well, what can I say other than this girls spirit shines so brightly I can see it through the pages. Given her situation it would have been understandable if she became closed off and angry the same way people acted toward her. It takes someone special to not let ignorance burden their spirit. Fred is also extremely dedicated, committed, and loyal, that is admirable.

Ryan
At first I felt like he was a bit of a coward. I knew he was capable of so much more but didn’t really have the drive to stand up to his so called “friends” and tell them what he was really thinking. All of the crappy things Seth did and not really being interested in Gwyneth should of all come to light. Thank goodness Fred walked into his life. It takes him a bit, but he gets it together and does all the right things. He of course is instantly forgiven and you realize just how amazing he really is. :)

My Rating

4.5 Shiny, ancestral, over, the children of the River People Stars!! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this book because I’m sure you’ll be “Hooked” as soon as you pick it up!!

Gr’s
Summary

What if everything you think you want isn't what you actually need...

Dr. Shelly Monroe is a woman who doesn't shy away from going after what she wants, but lately good sex has been hard to find. Shelly's become increasingly frustrated with the men she's been dating and the men she believes are the right choice.

Joshua Daniels is certainly not even close to the right choice. In fact he is exactly the wrong choice. For one thing, he's Mason Langley's best friend and best man. Second he's too much of a risky complication for Shelly to even consider.

Then why can't she stop thinking about how delicious he looked that first night she met him at Exquisite? Why is it so imperative to keep her lusty desire for a man that doesn’t meet her preconceived mold hidden from Lena and Mason, her trusted friends?

It seems unreasonable that being with a man completely wrong in theory could somehow feel so right. Then why is it the more she sees him the more enticing he becomes?

The way I see it

Holy Savannah Georgia Man-Eater HOTNESS!! Wow, where to start?.. How about I flipping LOVED ENTICE!!! Shelly’s character was like a hologram projection that if I could reach out and touch I’m sure would have been real!! E. Frank does an amazing job of making every single character a part of your heart! Yeah, even Mom and Dad, you don’t have to agree with them but they make your heart swell. This book made me laugh, and it made me cry. Happy tears, sad tears, and tears of pure Joy!!  So many emotions. One of my favorite aspects was even though Entice was “book 2” the main focus was on Shelly and Josh. Exquisite was focused on Lena and Mason, and even though I loved loved loved Lena and Mason in book 1, they didn’t take anything away from Shelly and Josh’s story. I fell madly in love with Shelly and Delicious Daniels. This book was absolutely amazing. Josh’s love for Shelly absolutely resonates throughout the pages... I knew he was up to something, but I was completely unprepared by what happened! It was thrilling to find out! Seriously, this was an amazing book.  Every interaction with every character was perfect!! The ending was perfect.  Bottom line... Perfect across the board!!

My Fav’s

Shelly

I love all 3 Shel’s. Man-Eater Monroe, is assertive, confident, passionate, and most of all unrestrained. Georgia is, sweet, gentle, kind, loving, and has a killer sexy southern accent. Dr Monroe, is a combination of both Man-Eater and Georgia. Not to mention Shel is the BEST! She was there for Lena and I’m so happy I got to know her!

Josh

Mm, Delicious Daniels is right!!! Wowzers! lol, sorry. *Fanning Face* Okay, Josh is this perfect blend of sexy, delicious, determined, hard working, congenial, honest and delectable man! He takes my breath away, I knew from the moment he walked into Exquisite he was meant for Shelly!

My Rating

5.0 Brilliantly Sexy, dreaming beneath an oak tree stars! THIS.IS.A.MUST.READ. I feel so lucky for finding this amazing series! It’s your
turn! GO.READ.NOW.

Shadowhunters and Downworlders: A Mortal Instruments Reader (The Mortal Instruments)

Shadowhunters and Downworlders
Pub: Jan 29th 2013
By Smart Pop
ARC From Publisher

GR’s Summary:
Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series, epic urban fantasy set in a richly imagined world of shadowhunters, vampires, werewolves, fairies, and more, has captured the imaginations and loyalty of hundreds of thousands of YA readers. Originally a trilogy (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass), the series has extended to six titles, plus a prequel trilogy, the Infernal Devices, and a planned sequel series, the Dark Artifices. A feature film is planned for 2013.
Shadowhunters and Downworlders, edited by Clare (who provides an introduction to the book and to each piece), is a collection of YA authors writing about the series and its world.

Authors Who Contributed: Holly Black / Kendare Blake / Gwenda Bond / Sarah Rees Brennan / Rachel Caine / Sarah Cross / Kami Garcia / Michelle Hodkin / Kelly Link / Kate Milford / Diana Peterfreund / Sara Ryan / Scott Tracey / Robin Wasserman

“There’s something very magical about them. They look like the letters of an alphabet that exists just on the edge of our imagination: familiar enough to be letters, but unfamiliar enough to be mysterious.” -Cassandra Clare

The way I see it :

Shadowhunters and Downworlders was a very insightful read. All of the authors involved brought very interesting, well researched points of view about the world that Cassandra Clare has created. This book was edited by her personally and the reader can tell each piece represents the Mortal Instrument's different core elements fully and effectively. There are some spoilers involved, so I don't advise one to read this until they've completed the series. Each author provides an essay where they describe an aspect of the book... This is an ingenious idea, both for the author and the reader! Cassandra Clare mentions a certain topic she has received a lot of flack for, it can now be addressed by someone else other than her. Thanks to this Mortal Instruments "reader", Cassandra Clare can see how others relate to her world. The "Readers" can view a more in depth analysis of the story we so cherish and the characters we love! All and all, I must say this book is the perfect anecdote for a case of“Mortal Instruments Withdrawals.”

My Fav's

Michelle Hodkin

Simon Lewis: Jewish Vampire, Hero: Not only did M. Hodkin do her research but the way she describes Simon is just a delight! She helps us “really” see the side of him we all know is there! “It is not our blood but our actions that define who we are.” -M. Hodkin

Sarah Rees Brennan

The Dirty Side of Demon Hunting: Wow! What a way to end this “GREAT” book! S. Brennan brings a fresh and humorous “take” on Mortal Instruments, without depreciating the value of the characters we love :) I don’t want to give away too much but I couldn’t resist this quote... “Valentine: Stab, stab, XOXOXO, Daddy.” -S. Brennan

My Rating

3.5 Enlightened and thoroughly entertained stars! If you need “extra” Mortal Instruments in your life, go pick up this book!
