Synopsis:

A steamy, office-romance novella from New York Times bestselling author, Whitney G...

He definitely wasn’t supposed to get that email…

Subject: My Boss.

Have I already told you that I hate my boss today?

Sexy as hell or not, this pompous, arrogant, ASSHOLE asked me to pick up his dry cleaning the second I walked through the door. Then he told me that I needed to take his Jaguar to a car wash that was ten miles outside of the city, but only after I needed to stand in a never-ending line to buy some type of limited, hundred-dollar watch.

I honestly can’t wait to see the look on his face two months from now when I tell him that I’m quitting his company and that he can kiss my ass. KISS. MY. ASS.

All those former fantasies about him kissing me with his “mouth of perfection” or bending me over my desk and filling me with his cock are long over. OVER.

Your bestie,
May

PS--Please tell me your day is going better than mine…

Subject: Re: My Boss.

No, you haven’t already told me that you hate your "boss" today, but seeing as though you’ve sent me this email directly, I know now…

Yes, I did ask you to pick up my dry cleaning the second you arrived to work to day. (Where is it?) And I did tell you to take my Jaguar to the car wash and pick up my thousand-dollar watch. (Thank you for taking five hours to do something that could be accomplished in two.)

You don’t have to wait two months from now to see the look on my face when you tell me you’re quitting. I’m standing outside your office at this very moment. ( Open the door.

No comment on your “fantasies,” although I highly doubt they’re “long over.”

Your boss,
Michael

PS—Yes. My day is definitely going far better than yours…

Review:

OMG!!

This was such a fun and sexy novella! Exactly what I needed to read after a book hangover that left me looking for my next reading escape! This novella might be short, but it’s packed with fun, passionate and hot moments. Whitney G. always writes characters that make me want to take out my fictional pom poms. Let the cheering for the HEA beging! The typical 9 to 5 office shift is about to get hot, flirty and dirty!

The "naughty CEO" is about to meet his match! Mya London has scored a job as the executive assistant to Michael Leighton thanks to a job listing that her BFF emailed to her. When she started working at Leighton Publishing, the last thing she expected was for her boss to be such an irresistible a**hole. The reputation that follows him is 100% accurate and Mya has her work cut out for her if she wants to keep her job. Michael makes her life a living hell, but she’s about to break every one of his rules. As days go by, the tension between them grows stronger and sparks fly. If the walls of Leighton Publishing could talk ...

This was such an amazing reading escape! It put a smile on my face from beginning to end! Whitney G. is a favorite of mine and all her stories leave me wanting more! She pulls you in from the moment you read the first page and her words never let you go. I laughed and swooned left and right with this book. The banter between Mya and Michael was extremely entertaining. I loved everything about their story. This is a novella that I will without a doubt read again in the near future. Great work by Whitney G.!

Rating:

I give, Naughty Boss, by Whitney G., 4.5 sexy, entertaining, page-turning stars!

Review:

In 2016, one of my reading goals was to read a book by an author that has been on my TBR for a good amount of time. All my bookworm sisters have been telling me to read a book by M. Robinson. I finally did and I can’t wait to read all the other titles that she has published. Her writing style is captivating and her characters fascinating. If you have not read the Good Ol’ Boys Series, have no fear. You can absolutely read Road to Nowhere if you have not read that series.

In Road to Nowhere, we follow Mia Ryder and Creed Jensen. The cute and passionate social butterfly meets the sexy and intriguing bad boy. In a life filled with tragedy and loss, Creed never expected to meet a girl who would steal his heart. Mia might be nine years younger than him, but she’s like a breath of fresh air in his world of darkness. From the moment they meet, they have an instant connection that turns into a beautiful friendship. Mia is a ray of sunshine that appears in the most difficult of days. Her friendship means the world to Creed. As time goes by, Mia and Creed’s feelings toward each other turn into an intense love. Creed has never felt anything like it. He would do anything to protect Mia. Their love story is a chaotic hurricane of emotions. Will they find their HEA down the road?

There are many things I loved about this story. I loved that it was written in a dual POV. Both Mia and Creed’s POV brought so much to this story. Mia and Creed are extremely intoxicating together. They are a mix of passion and fire that will have your heart beating from beginning to end! Their chemistry is intense and their love for each other all-consuming. Mia and Creed’s friendship turned into love and it was important for me to know how they both felt about their connection. What I also loved is how all the events that happened in Creed’s life have shaped him in the man that he is today. He’s perfectly imperfect and that is the kind of hero that I love to cheer for.

We got heartbreaking moments in this story, but tender and passionate ones as well. It was easy to escape into this story and follow these two characters. The author did a fantastic job with this book and I can’t wait to see what will happen next. This book ends with a cliffhanger, which left me wanting more! April can’t come soon enough! I can’t wait to embark on my next M. Robinson reading escape!
Rating:

I give, Road to Nowhere, by M. Robinson, 4 passionate, page-turning, intense stars!

Prologue Excerpt:

Mia Ryder.
Mia fuckin’ Ryder.
I sat at the train tracks. Desperately trying not to think about her, but it was easier said than done. She came into my life like a fucking hurricane, destroying everything in her path. A girl from the right side of the tracks, which for some reason I couldn’t ever fucking fathom.
Falling for a man like me.
I had made mistakes, too many to fucking count, but life didn’t give you a do-over. All that was left for me to do was to accept them, even fucking embrace them. They became a part of me, as much as every tattoo that covered my body. Every one of them meant something to me. They were my battle scars. Far worse than the ones I got in war. In the eyes of others, they were just colorful, intricate art.
But to me...
They were my solace and my pain.
Nothing had changed since the last time I fucking lived in this godforsaken town. No welcome home party from family or friends, no thanks or parades from the town residents for serving our country.
Nothing.
Not one fucking thing.
Everything I had done, I had done for my family, for the MC, for her…
I fought for my fucking brothers.
I fought for my goddamn country.
I fought for my girl.
Never realizing…
I might fucking die for them too.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and all that fucking shit. I once read that every warrior hoped a good death would find him. I always went looking for mine, but not even the Reaper wanted me. I thought fighting for something I believed in would make me a good man. In the end, it never mattered. I would always be on the wrong side of the tracks, and they would always lead me to the wrong station. Changing my people, places, and things throughout the years didn’t help change the outcome of the choices I’d made. Of the things I’d done.
At the end of the day…
I was already nailed to the cross.
I was fucking born on it.

Review:

Whispers and the Roars is a book that left me gasping for air in a few occasions. Take the warning at the beginning of this book seriously. It’s an extremely chill inducing story that will leave you turning the pages until every intricate piece of puzzle falls into place. K. Webster is an author that I discovered this year. Her writing style is unique and unforgettable. Each of her stories have left me with a huge book hangover.

I usually recap a bit of the story when I write my reviews. With this book, I won’t. Each reader that read Whispers and the Roars needs to go in blind. The less you know about it, the more this story will leave you speechless. If you are looking for a hearts and flowers kind of love story ... this is not it! If you are looking for a story that will leave you with a "What in the world did I just read??" feeling, I absolutely recommend this book.

Kady, the heroine, goes through some pretty difficult moments that left her with deep emotional scars. She’s an intriguing character to follow and I was cheering for her to get her HEA. I loved the main male hero as well. He was meant to be with Kady and you could feel the intensity of his love for her. I loved many characters in this story, but I also hated a few. The author did a phenomenal job with this story and I really hope that everybody picks up this book. You are just a few pages away from falling in love with a new author that always delivers intoxicating stories that leave you breathless. I absolutely loved my reading journey and highly recommend this book!

I give, Whispers and the Roars, by K. Webster, 5 dark, intense, striking, heart-wrenching stars!

Review:

Reading the last installment of a series is always a bittersweet moment for me. I have loved each book in the Made in Jersey Series by Tessa Bailey. I will without a doubt miss all my Jersey peeps! Wound Tight, which is the last book of the series got me all kinds of nervous. I waited until the very last moment to read it because of two reasons. The first one was that I’m not good with goodbyes. I wanted this series to continue FOREVER! The second one was that it was going to be the first time I read a M/M romance novel. I’m always nervous/excited about reading a new genre.

Tessa Bailey is my security blanket in Book Town. No matter the genre she writes, she always makes me feel like I always belong next to the characters that she is so passionately writing about. From the moment she announced that she was writing her first M/M book, I knew that I was going to make Wound Tight my first M/M read. I knew without a doubt that she was going to make me fall in love with this genre just like she did with the all the other books that she wrote.

In this last installment of the Made in Jersey Series, we follow Renner Bastion and Milo Bautista. Sexy and intense owner of a factory falls for swoony and hot security guard? Yes, please! The passion between Milo and Renner was extremely intoxicating! I started fanning myself every single time they were in the same room. Milo is the sweet/tender kind of hero and Renner is the intense/passionate one. Like any other of Tessa’s couples, Milo and Renner had to overcome some obstacles to be together. This book was extremely hot and I was not surprised one bit! Tessa Bailey knows how to write some pretty wickedly hot steamy scenes! This story was filled many tender, sweet, sexy and hot moments between Renner and Milo. I loved how they grew not only as individuals, but as a couple as well.

The writing style was phenomenal like always, it was amazing to reunite with the other characters of this series and Tessa Bailey delivered a M/M romance that left me wanting more! This book can be read as a standalone, but Tessa Bailey put enough details about the past characters to make you feel comfortable about reading this book before all the other ones in this series. I will miss them so much! I’m extremely happy about the decision I made and picking Wound Tight as my first M/M romance novel. Tessa Bailey never disappoints!

Rating:
I give, Wound Tight, 4.5 sexy, tantalizing, double-dirty-talking stars!

About the Author:

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
