August Empties: Products I've Used Up
Another month has flown by so it's time for another Empties post! You guys know the drill by now - here are all of the products that I've managed to use up recently, and my final thoughts on whether I'll be repurchasing them again or not.

This month's Love Me Beauty Box has arrived and it's a good 'un!  I chose Menu 1 this time around, so let's take a closer look at the products included.

January Empties / Products I've Used Up

Sunday, 2 February 2014

Here's to the first Empties post of 2014.  I'm really happy with how many products I've managed to finish up last month, though there are quite a few favourites amongst this little lot that I'm sad to see go!

The One & Only Make-Up Tag

Wednesday, 25 September 2013

I was tagged by the lovely Ana from Anagoesgreen to do the One & Only Tag that's currently circulating on the blogosphere.  It was tough going through my make-up collection and compiling what's essentially an ultimate favourites list, but here we go - these are my final picks to the question "If you could only have one.....what would it be?".

Love Me Beauty Box - September 2013 review

Love Me Beauty Box* (£10 + p&p per month, link)

I know what you're thinking.  Another beauty box?  No!  Love Me Beauty is simply the new name for Beauteco Box.  They decided to re-name themselves citing similarities with a different business, which is fair enough in my books.  Nothing else has changed though.  The price is still the same, customers still get three different menu options to choose from each month and they're still keeping their 100% recyclable eco-friendly box & packaging as it is which I'm very happy about.  So without further ado, shall we have a look at what's inside September's Love Me Beauty box?

March Empties / Products I've Used Up

Thursday, 28 March 2013

Oh yes, it's that time of the month for the Empties round up!  I managed to finish off quite a lot of products again which is no surprise since I'm still on the 100 Day Spending Ban.  So here are my March Empties, what I thought of them and whether I will be repurchasing them or not.

Tried & Tested: Murad Vitalic Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask

Thursday, 21 March 2013

Murad Vitalic Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask* (6 treatments, £25, link)

Often touted as a 'weekly miracle worker for dull skin', I've spotted Murad's Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask on several blogs lately and I have been lucky enough to be able to try it out for myself.  This face mask uses Pomegranate Extract, Natural Fruit Enzymes, Ginko Bilbo Extract, and AHAs to dissolve tired and dull skin cells, leaving you with a brightened, clear and revitalised complexion.

It has a gel like formula which feels instantly cooling when you first apply it to freshly cleansed skin, and there was also a tingling, 'working', sensation as the mask gets down to business.  Those with sensitive skin may find this too irritating, but I didn't find it too uncomfortable myself.  I left it on for around 10 minutes and then washed it off.  My skin was left feeling very clean, my pores looked noticeably smaller, and my complexion looked much brighter overall.  Brilliant!

The packaging is a little unconventional as you receive six sachets in a box, as opposed the usual tube or pump, but I can see this appealing to those who travel a lot and want to keep up with a good skincare routine whilst they're away.  There's a lot of product in one sachet, so you could easily get two uses out of each one which is what I did.  On this basis, you're paying £25 for 12 masks which works out at just over £2 each.  Not bad for a face treatment that works!

Have you tried this?
Do you prefer face masks in tubes or sachets?

Review: Murad Blemish Treatment Concealer

Thursday, 14 March 2013

Murad Blemish Treatment Concealer* (2.5g, £19, link)

If you've ever been troubled by blemishes, you'll probably know that covering them in make-up can often only exasperate the problem.  However, having an unsightly crater of a spot on your face is never pleasant or exactly going to boost your confidence levels either.  Which is where this magic 2-in-1 blemish treatment concealer comes in very handy.  But does it work?

My Favourite Makeup Primers

Wednesday, 20 February 2013

For a very long time, I never used any primers.  They always sounded far too high maintenance for a lazy girl like me!  But as my interest in make-up grew, it seemed inevitable that I would eventually pick one up and now I really appreciate all of the benefits of using them.  Here are my current favourites:-

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer for Blemish & Shine Control* (review)
This is my absolute holy grail primer and one that I constantly recommend to anyone who has an oily t-zone and blemish prone skin.  It leaves my face shine-free all day, has Salicylic Acid in it to prevent breakouts and it prolongs the wear time of my make-up.  It's also tinted, so will cover minor blemishes or marks, without the need for extra concealer.  Win-win!

bare Minerals Prime Time Foundation Primer (review)
Despite it being silicone based, I haven't had any problems with this primer at all.  I always enjoy that silky feel it gives the skin and it makes the smoothest base for foundation.  It helps to keep my foundation put for 8-9 hours so I often use this in the week before I go to work.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (review)
I've been using UDPP for years and its become a make-up staple for me.  I usually always apply this before putting on any eyeshadow because it stops any creasing or fading on my oily lids.  I also like how it intensifies some eyeshadow colours too and really makes them 'pop'!

Benefit The POREfessional
I have a love/hate thing with this primer, but thought I'd include it because it really does reduce the size of my pores so its worth it for that factor alone.  Sadly, it also breaks me out if I use it too often, so if I keep it for special occasions only, we get along just fine.

Do you use primers?
