Exclusive: Barry M Autumn/Winter 2015 Sunset Daylight Curing Collection Review + Swatches

Hey everyone! I have my first ever exclusive to show you, which is pretty exciting. Today Barry M released 4 new polishes to add to their Sunset Daylight Curing collection* for Autumn/Winter, exclusively for Boots. I was sent these last month to create some exciting things with (which I'm sure you'll hear about soon) and I was given today as the first posting date for these, so here I am! The new collection consists of a dark purple, a dark red/wine shade, a dark mushroom shade, and a light pink. The light pink seems to be a bit of an anomaly in the collection, but I think it helps to brighten them up a bit. If you didn't see my review of the original collection you can see it here. The Sunset polishes cure in daylight, and they're supposed to last longer and be harder than regular nail polish. Yet, with the same removal as regular polish. Although, they also cure under artificial lighting, which will be helpful in the Autumn and Winter months. As we saw with the older collection they also have a wider brush than regular Barry M colours, just like the Quick Dry collection, which makes application a lot easier.

Butterfly Sunset Gradient Tutorial for Divine Caroline

Hey everyone! Just a quick post from me today to direct you over to a tutorial I did for Divine Caroline. I tried gradients over a white base for the first time and it worked so much better, thats definitely (partly) where I've been going wrong. I really liked how these turned out. I wasn't sure whether I should have used pinker tones but I like the sunset look with the white silhouettes of the butterflies. If you want to create these for yourself (or switch up the colours) head over to my tutorial here.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

Gradient Stripe Nail Art

Hey everyone! I've had this design sitting in my files for so long and I just haven't got around to posting it. Mainly because I'm not sure whether I like it or not. But tonight I decided to take the plunge and just post it anyway. This blog is supposed to document all the designs I do, good or bad, so it's time it saw daylight. I think the main reason I don't like it is because the gradient isn't smooth. When I created this I'd run out of triangular makeup sponges and I only had a small circular one and it just didn't work the same unfortunately. I added the stripe to draw attention away from that but I'm not sure if it did enough. I'll let you make up your mind! Let's just pretend they're meant to be striped not gradiented and it will all be fine. For these I used the Barry M - Sunset Daylight Curing collection, which you can see my review of here. I did these mid-review so you can see how long ago it was that I actually did them!

Pink Glitter Gradient

Hey everyone! I'm still on holiday so this is another scheduled post but hopefully you're enjoying them! Today I have some nail art using Peach for the Stars from the recent Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing collection. It's been ages since I posted a glitter gradient and they're so simple to create that I thought it was about time. It's nice and summery so it fits with the fact I'm on holiday!

Navy Polka Dots

Hey everyone! I've now done two exams and I only have one left next week, I'm starting to taste freedom (and regular posts!). I created a load of really simple nail art designs one night a few weeks ago and I'd completely forgotten about the pictures until I was looking through my files last night, so here's one of them. It's not much, but I always think that polka dots are a really effective design. They're also always noticed by people, which is sods law because designs that take hours don't tend to get noticed!

Sunset Nail Art for Avon

Hey everyone! Today is the last day of my holiday, it's weird writing this before my holiday has even begun but hopefully it's been a good week, both for me and for my blog! I've had a couple of great guest posts, and also posted a bit of nail art along the way, hopefully you've enjoyed it! To tide you over until I'm properly back here are some simple sunset nails I did for Avon, they're nothing special and the palm trees are a bit wonky, but I think the crooked look isn't TOO bad.
