Yarn bowls in the making

Helen has taken some pictures during the making of this batch of bowls, giving us a step-by-step view of the process.
After throwing each bowl on her wheel, they're left to harden.
She cuts the holes and slots with a small scalpel:
The bowls are fired twice, once to fire the clay, and a second, lower firing for the glaze

I receive small batches from Helen and they sell well. The yarn bowl designs that I have in stock are available here

Yarn bowls in progress

Much-requested before Christmas and demand exceeding supply, I visited Helen during the holidays and saw lots in progress. I was able to take a limited number of finished ones which are now available at p2tog

She's had problems getting the bowls dry in the cold weather, if they're not dry they explode in the kiln. There are lots more in progress, both the original design (pictured) and the new deco design

two more yarn bowl designs

I've just added two more yarn bowl designs from Helen Dixon. The dark bronze in colour is mirror-like. The other glaze is a very bold red. I think these glazes and the geometric design are reminiscent of the opulent Ard Deco era - what do you think?
Three new yarn bowl designs from Helen.

These are prototypes but if you'd like to buy any of them, please let me know.

Which do you like? We'd love feedback / comments.
