Tony West's 1000cc supercharged B31 V-twin
Greg Summerton's J.A.P and Tony West's 2 B.S.As....and the other side of the v-twin showing supercharger and sidecar
Tony West, in South Australia, has built a 1,000cc v-twin from 1934 G11 BSA (1000cc sidevalve) crankcases. and post-war B.S.A. B31 top ends and a BSA frame. He also built a 940cc B.S.A. single, based on a B31. Tony races the bikes (sidecar speedway) and is a friend of Greg Summerton (see above). Greg says, "The single is through studded.....they pass right from the top of the heads down through the cases, past teh mains and out the bottom, through a big piece of angle iron and some more nuts....and it stays together quite well, 3 seasons now without a problem.....The twin has steel plates bolted inside the crankcases on each side of the crank that he built himself. Steel plates are screwed to the tops of the case mouths and the whole thing is through studded ... but not right thru the cases like the single." Thanks to Greg Summerton for this.

UPDATE: Antero in Finland a.k.a.Chopper Man, has solved this one. the bike is a Packer, and is on display in the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum. It is a modern imitation of an early board-track racer - a 1000cc v-twin with 3 desmodromically-operated valves per cylinder.

Hulster 8 Valve
>
Stellan Egeland of S.E. Service in Sweden, has made this machine, with a Harley Knucklehead bottom end and top end completely designed and built by himself. The cylinders are bronze and the heads aluminium: "The cylinder heads are of the semi-radial type where no less than three exhaust rockers are needed to operate the valves that points 45 degrees away from each other, the intake valves are in-line."

Burt Munro's Indian Scout
There are now some replicas that people get confused with the original:
Burt Munro (who lived in Invercargill, New Zealand) started modifying his 600cc 55mph v-twin Indian Scout in 1926 and made his own flywheels, barrels and pistons, using sand from the beach and old tin cans for casting. He ended up with a 950cc displacement and went to Bonneville 3 times in the nineteen sixties and set 3 world speed records, and once qualified at over 200 mph. Burt's story has been made into a great film starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, called The World's Fastest Indian
