The patterns I found by googling but they were all handily gathered here for a quiltalong last year. There's a bunch of broken links but if you look at the first conversation in the group someone has refound them. This was the first paper piecing I'd done since last summer and the first of any size since I did this cushion. I enjoyed it immensely and am thinking I may try another 4 of those variations for a cushion for me. I always seem to give away the tricksy stuff. I do wish I'd used a longer stitch length for the quilting, though. It looks a bit wonky in places - although not as bad IRL as it looks in that photo!
The backing I bought for one wee bird for this quilt and it was perfect! And I had just enough. Superb!
Next week is also my eldest niece's birthday. She will be 10 and I decided to ask Michelle at Podthiki Goblins (who drew this picture) to do her a sock mouse/picture combo. This is Bumble Mouse.
Niece loves yellow but her room is pink so it is girlie enough but not too sweet. I love him and would happily rehome him here! And on to the next project I go! I may have succumbed to the same bandwagon as Reene and bought the Liberty Love book to make a Marcelle Medallion quilt (incidentally there were 6 of those books this afternoon in Amazon, there's only 3 now!) So I am driving myself nuts picking a colour scheme. Wheee!
P.S. I don't use Google Reader, I am a GFC dashboard girl. But all the furore over GR being zapped led me to Blog Lovin'. I quite like the interface so am claiming my blog with this groovy bit of code.
