last of the Easter hols

It's a whole week since I was here - probably coz I've been quite busy!

Last Saturday we spent at the Edinburgh ComicCon. It's just
little but was very enjoyable. At one point Spouse was accosted by a friend who has a business selling film cells from cult movies. He'd been bursting for the loo for 2 hours so Al was roped into being the man behind the desk while pal ran to the toilet. No, profits did not tumble. *g*

We watched a charity auction where the auctioneer was the guy from Storage Hunters. He did a q&a and was generally very entertaining. We did a spot of shopping, too. Tee shirts, artwork and Japanese stuff for Chook, a Flash tee for Spouse and here's my wee haul. A tardis tote and lasercut Steampunk gun pin!

On Monday we were off to a wee local town for a spot of touristy shopping. Chook's request - she collects keyrings!

And we vetoed all the lovely wee tearooms for a Greig's sausage roll by the ducks. Coz we're classy like that!

Spouse and I were back at work on Wednesday but I did manage to finish another quilt top which I can't show you. And today was Spouse's first hillclimb in his new Bumpy car! He's the bluey one in the middle here.

It's been an absolutely beautiful day! We took a rug and books and knitting and camped out (and met a bunch of friends too, which really passed the time most pleasantly!

And I almost missed Spouse's only recorded run of the day! I've not got familiar with Bumpy's weird colour yet but I did catch the bit of the run I could see even though I only got the last wee bit on video!

He's supposed to get 2 official timed runs but there were so many crashes that they ran out of time and only got one each! But it's on again tomorrow so hopefully he'll get another beautiful day. And me? It's groceries, cleaning and getting ready for tge return to school. Yuk. But maybe some knitting, too. Hope the sun's been out where you are, too!

life in Chateau DLM

Things have been really busy round our way lately. Not just all the sewing but generally living busy.

We had our first "Ice-Cream Sunday" girls AND partners get together for years! It was a brilliant night celebrating Biff and Pete's new house and pretty much laughing non stop for far too many hours. These girls are my old school friends and it always takes 25 years off me when we're together.
Spouse bought a wee toy car to replace his Mini - that's the "bumpy car" on the left. Which has actually been getting used as transport for him (and me!) since it's a currently unmodified Clio sport and a brilliant wee nippy motor. There is nothing in our garage at the moment! It is weird.

My kid continues to grow (up). Note the Batman dress, leather biker's jacket and flowery DM's.  Cool chick, eh? (or whatever is the current such term. #swag perhaps?)

She is also incredibly good with her hands. This is her first attempt at a saddle for her smaller model ponies. Felt, ribbon, paperclips and the hot glue gun. I think she's so talented.

And she's started getting baritone horn lessons at school! No instrument home yet (this is just a trial run to see what she thinks) but this tee made us both giggle! It's so Chook - couldn't be a nice gentle flute, eh?

Me cat has been poorly. Poor Jones was vomiting and *gasps* off his food.  This is him on the way to the vet for his yearly booster. He loves the vet - loathes the car.

He's fine now although his butt is a bit on the sensitive side still. Maybe I should get him some bio yoghurts. *g*

It's suddenly taken a turn for the colder here, too. So new flannelette duvet covers were called for. And snuggly blankets - the cats are loving them! Just as well since the boiler packed in this morning! (this was before the cat had the runs and Chook lost her locker key. Typical Monday before 8am!)

So there ya go. A peak inside the chateau and at what is happening day-to-day with us. How 'bout you lot? Anything interesting?
