- South Africa SABS & NRCS certification
Electrical and electronic products must be gotten the certification of CoC, which used on safety LOA and EMC when the products are entered the South African market.
LOA (Letter of Authority) issued only to importers.
When the goods are imported, the LOA need to submit at the same time to manifest to the customs broker for customs clearance. After the declaration, the South African Customs will be returned to the customs line LOA, LOA can continue to use at a later time with the same supplier of goods imports.
So when apply for LOA, the need to provide agents (importers), LOA issuing units of NRCS (National Regulator of Compulsory Specification), full name of national mandatory requirements management department, formerly the SABS regulatory authorities, which determine the product meets the standards, issue a certificate product consistency.
CoC (Certificate of Conformance) is used to confirm EMC compliance certificate. All electrical products required to obtain this certificate, COC competent authority for the SABS (South African Bureau of Standards).
LOA and COC certificate are period of three years.
- Kenya-KEBS
Electrical and electronic products into the Kenyan market must comply with the "pre-export goods inspection program (PVoC) ".
The project is Kenya National Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and requirements stipulated implemented.
For specific goods and products in the respective countries for export when a series of conformity assessment and inspection process to ensure that it meets Kenya's technical specifications, mandatory standards or other applicable laws and regulations. And the purpose is to ensure product quality, public health and safety and environmental protection.
Goods must pass inspection before shipment and obtain inspection company opened in the Certificate of Conformance (abbreviated CoC). Otherwise it will not enter Kenya, not in the pre-shipment inspection of goods passing, may be ordered to return the original export. If applied for and granted in the Kenya port of entry (e.g. Mombasah) only for temporary testing, will be subject to fines and deposits, and pay inspection fees.
- Nigeria-SONCAP
Electrical and electronic products into the Kenyan market must comply with the Nigeria Industrial Standards (NIS), or by the Nigerian National Bureau of Standards (Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON) recognized international standards, conformity assessment include safety and quality assurance projects, particular electronic product categories and shall comply with EMC requirements.
Manufacturers and exporters must provide written proof of product safety design, EMC compliance, and appropriate manufacturing sites prove that the product be registered and obtained SONCAP (SON Conformity Assessment Program).
Certificate (Product Certificate) was used to demonstrate the products exported to Nigeria SONCAP meet accepted standards. Product certificates valid for a maximum of three years, renewable on the certificate validity period reused.
Besides, the actual shipment of goods must be tested before sending, and after verification based on shipment detail to be able to obtain the necessary clearance times SONCAP certificate (SONCAP Certificate). This certificate is necessary for the product to Nigeria after customs clearance documents, prove the goods have a valid certificate (PC), and after sampling, visual examination or other evaluation methods confirm that the product meet the standards.
SONCAP certificate shipped valid when the time limit. Not achieved SC while trying to enter the country's goods will be rejected and returned FOB port.
Therefore, all the SONCAP program controlled goods must obtain a valid SONCAP certificate before smooth customs clearance in Nigeria. Thus to avoid any additional charges, stranded, fine or goods may be returned to origin matter that led to the shipment.
