Inaccurate title

The title Mutual withdrawal suggests all parties simply agree to WP:Drop the stick, but what this essay actually describes is a way to make mutual changes to existing talk page threads as a bit of cleanup before withdrawing. That's not just withdrawal, that's editing existing discussion. I'm not sure what a better title would be but "Mutual withdrawal" is not it.

"Withdrawal" in this context doesn't refer to walking away, it refers to withdrawing (removing) the comments. —swpb^{T • go beyond • bad idea} 15:57, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

well intended

This essay strikes me as an example of instruction creep. It's well intended, and I applaud the author's effort here, but on the other hand, I also think that in order to be here Wikipedia:Competence is required and one of the basic skills needed is the ability for simple Wikipedia:Dispute resolution such as just agreeing to delete a certain number of comments, or adding strikeout or whatever else people agree to do on their talk pages. Do we really have to have instructions how to just work such things out together? Well, I don't, and I don't plan to engage further with this essay, sorry.
