Article for Sam Feldman

[edit]

Hi MrLinkinPark333, I work for Canadian music executive Sam Feldman, and I'm trying to create a Wikipedia article for him. I see that you have an interest in articles related to Canada, and that you've updated the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award list, which Sam Feldman received, in the past. I'm hoping that you will take a look at the draft I have posted here. Would you consider moving it to main space?

Thank you, Sarah for SF (talk) 17:25, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. Per Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Paid editors, this draft requires Template:Connected contributor (paid) to be filled out at User talk:Sarah for SF/Sam Feldman draft. Secondly, this draft would need to be submitted at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. A reviewer there can give advice for what this draft requires. Taking a quick look, I notice that the references require cleanup. The main issues I see there are duplicate citations and too many quotations. I suggest taking a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Quotations#Overuse on ways to fix there issues. MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 20:23, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your feedback, MrLinkinPark333. I have added a paid editor tag to the draft talk page in addition to the disclosure that was already on my user page. As for the quotes in my citations - I have source material from reliable publications that are not available online, and included the relevant quotes in the references so that those without access to hardcopies can verify. I looked into Wikipedia:Citing sources, and I understand that this is an appropriate method for this situation- do you know if there is an even better way to address this? Thank you for your guidance, I really appreciate it. Sarah for SF (talk) 19:24, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I think the number of quotes could be trimmed down per Wikipedia:Offline sources. For example, I don't think a quote would be needed to show Feldman was born in 1949. Reference quotes would be useful for information that could be challenged, like which bands A&F Music worked with in the early 1970s. Also, the length of the quotes could be trimmed down as well. Reference quotes can help with verification, but many long quotes can be too much per Wikipedia:Quotations#Overuse. MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 23:37, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
