Sterling is a census-designated place in Loudoun County, Virginia. As of the 2010 Census, 27,822 lived in the Sterling CDP, and 79,651 lived in the Sterling postal area. It includes part of the Washington Dulles International Airport as well as the former corporate headquarters for AOL. The Sterling postal area contains the communities of Broad Run Farms, Cascades, Countryside, Dulles, Lowes, Potomac Falls, Sterling Park, and Sugarland Run.
