  • funny how it seems, a lot of people live in this area. land is so fertile here, it's a large area for crop growers. and hey, if you get to the back of the University of Perpetual Help System in this town, you will also notice a wide circular area... it's northwest of Don Vicente Quintans street. I don't know what it is like now, because UPHS had plans of expanding their campus way back in the late 1990's. look for "nwodqs" on this map.
  • i agree that this could be a meteor crater.. local folks say this is like a large basin when i was a child. but if you pass by the national highway dividing this crater, you will notice there are actual small hills... in my opinion, those are pieces of the meteors that corroded and formed like hills.
  • I'm an electrical engineer, but I took geomorphology under the late UP Prof. and Phivolcs Director Raymundo Punongbayan. This structure does look conspicuous in being circular and with radial features. What I noticed is that it has no major drainage system crossing through it. The topomap view proves it to be of higher elevation than the surrounding periphery. Moreover, the core has interestingly more pronounced vegetation compared to the treeless limb. At first thought, this can be exotically be taken as being an extraterrestrial case as the deep New Mexico Meteor Crater or the dinosaur-killer at Yucatan Peninsula. Using Occam's razor I could also venture this as an Earthly worn-out volcanic caldera. But, before all of these conjectures, this structure should be a very interesting case for study at the field. Any takers? Wild dreams, searches and cheers, everyone! skyhigh
  • Lareg-Lareg is a barangay of Malisiqui, Pangasinan. So is this whole asteroid-like crater the whole barangay?
