Now abandoned, this was Kontum's airfield.

On its north side, approximately in the middle of its length, I slept beside it in a tent during December 1966 and January 1967.

According to a January 1965 topographical map, its elevation is at least 543 meters, or 1781 feet.

The printing date of the scanned map is January 1967.

The recent photo, which looks WNW, was taken on 28 September 2007.

The wartime photos, which look ESE, were taken during December 1966 or January 1967. The aviation company was the 129th Assault Helicopter Company. The troops waiting for the order to jump aboard were from the 1st Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division.

The black and white photo of the airfield was taken in the early 1970s.
