Position of the "Andrea Gail" at the last radio contact the evening of October 28, 1991. The ship capsized in the storm "Grace".
All six crewmembers were missing at sea, presumed dead:
+ Captain Billy Tyne +
+ Robert Shatford +
+ Dale Murphy +
+ David Sullivan +
+ Michael Moran +
+ Alfred Pierre +
The ship and crew were never found. A few fuel drums, a fuel tank, an empty life raft and some other flotsam were the only wreckage ever found.
The story of the Andrea Gail and her crew inspired Sebastian Junger's book (1997), The Perfect Storm, and the movie of the same name (2000), directed by Wolfgang Petersen and distributed by Warner Brothers.
