This is the famous Temple of Hindu religion.There are some 181 such temples across the country and six abroad. Goddess Umiya is worshipped by the Kutch Kadwa Patidar samaj of Gujarat. "The first such temple is 2000 years old and is located in Unjha in Gujarat," says Ganshayam Mehta, one of the organizers.

  • I do not think that Shri Umiya Mataji is only kuldevi of Kadva Patidar community. No community should make such claim. Mata Umiya of other Shakti will never keep discrimination because of caste and creed. Mata/Shakti is for all mankind/human being & showers blessings to all who worship apart from caste and creed.

  • I belong to Unjha and passed my childhood near mataji temple during 1965 to 1971. I remember that one full size sand stone murti of hanumanji outside temple in south direction in small children park near municipal school was there. This murti of Hanumanji was being worshipped by dalit comminity only. At present this place has been covered up by mataji Sansthan. Recently I also heard that this municipal school is also being shifted for parking of vehicles coming to temple. This is very sad. Umiya Mataji will never be pleased to take away nearby school facility of dalit children. Unjha Nagar Palika should rethink in the matter. S.A.Parmar Mobile No. 91 9724107656.
