Established in 1929 The University College of Engineering has the distinction of being the oldest and the biggest in Andhra Pradesh. Established in the year 1929, eleven years after the formation of Osmania University, it was the 6th Engineering College to be established in the whole of British India. The college moved to its present permanent building in the year 1947. Today it is the biggest among the campus colleges of Osmania University. There are 103 teaching staff members, including professors. The college is home to the cream of talent in both the Under Graduate and Post-Graduate B.E. and M.E. courses offered.
The College celebrated Platinum Jubilee in the year 2005 . The college has conferred autonomous status in the academic year 1994-95.

The institution has been adjudged by ISTE as the Best Engineering College in the Country for its overall performance in the year 2003

The college is now on track to be conferred the Indian Institute Technology(IIT)
status ,one of the best recognitions in Indian academecia.

  • I studied here and got degree in Mech.eng'g in 1981. I had fortune to learn from Eminent Proffesors Shri. Rammohan, Vittal, Mannan, Keshavarao jadav,Kumaraswamy etc. Still I remember them. The stay in hostels unforgetable. Food served in the mess that time is so superior quality.
