Alt-Daber military airfield (Wittstock former Soviet airbase)

Wittstock airbase was home of 33 IAP, equiped with MiG-29 Fulcrum-A/B combat aircraft, MiG-23UM Flogger-C operational trainers. The unit was part of North Corps, 16 GvIAD "Swirskaya", with its HQs at Damgarten.

The base was also known as Alt-Daber military airfield and was used by the Bundeswehr as well.

  • Это сейчас они так его назвали. Когда я там служил (1984-1989) аэродром назывался Виттшток,как и городишко рядом. Стояли там сначала Миг-23, потом Миг-29. В 89 уволился нахрен из армии и поехал на родину в Москву. Служил на КП полка, потом в корпус перешел.
  • this is an ex sovjet airbase, it had several MIGS there untill 1989. After the fall of the berlin wall the guys stationed there flew back to moscow. The first migs was the Mig-23, then the Mig-29 was setled there. this location is now used to do dragster racing and fabulous (like the full moon festival) open air partys ! It is surrounded by abandonned buildings and it has a bit of a ghost town look.
  • Назывался он "Аэродром Виттшток" для нас советских. В kursbuch кроме расписания поездов было также расписание автобусов. От Виттштока в сторону Альт-Дабера были два маршрута, в одном остановка автобуса около нашего КПП называлась Альт-Дабер гарнизон, в другом Альт-Дабер аэродром, и так печатали из года в год. Название аэродрома было таким и раньше для местных. Служил в ГРП (1980-1982), на КП полка (1982-1985), потом уехал на Курилы.
