New version of SPECweb2005 benchmark
adds ASPX scripts for
web server applications
WARRENTON, Va., January 14, 2010 � The Standard Performance Evaluation
Corp. (SPEC) has updated SPECweb2005, its standardized software for web server
performance evaluation, to include ASP.NET (ASPX) scripts.
SPEC members active in developing the new version, called SPECweb2005 V1.30,
include AMD, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Intel and Sun Microsystems.
Multiple options
SPECweb2005 V1.30 gives users the option of measuring performance based on
applications employing ASPX, JSP or PHP scripts. The banking, ecommerce and
support workloads in SPECweb2005 V1.30 measure peak performance as the maximum
number of simultaneous user sessions that a web server is able to support while
meeting specific throughput and error-rate requirements.
"This release extends SPECweb2005 to serve those in the web server community
using ASPX scripts, while maintaining SPEC's standards for objective and representative
performance measurement," says Rema Hariharan, chair of the SPECweb project committee.
Available now
SPECweb2005 V1.30 is available on CD ROM for $1,200 for new licensees, $600
for SPECweb99 upgrades, and $300 for eligible non-profit organizations. Current
