[nafex] Cornelian Cherry
Hello Group
I have what I think is a Cornelian Cherry or it may be an ealiagnus?
of some sort. I was told it was a "cherry tree" and have seen and
eaten some fruit. The fruit was oblong , about 3/4" long , red with
flecks on it. Very tart. The mother tree is a large shrub about 10'
tall. I was given what appears to be a seedling plant from under the
mother. The mother has dull green leaves, kinda silvery underneath.
Can anyone point me to a site with some info on cornelian cherries so
I can determine what I have or give me a description of a cornelian
cherry or tell me what the heck this is?
I am in zone 8b, about 50 miles north of New Orleans on the acidic
soils of St. Tammany Parish, La.
