My apologies to Tom.

A list member contacted me off-list.  They pointed out that the
following comment *might* be seen as a flame.  I want to make clear
that I intended the comment as  an introduction and to make clear that
the rest of the post was speculation and not fact.

My apologies to Tom.  I think he is a great guy.  Thanks to the person
who contacted me off-list.  It was gently done.
