Corps de la Garde Présidentielle

ORDER No. 2014-047 / PRN of 30 January 2014 on the organization of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic and setting out the responsibilities of those responsible. Under Article 21, the specific services to the Private Office of the President of the Republic are: The Directorate General of Documentation and External Security; The Presidential Guard; The State Inspectorate of State; The Financial Service; The Medical Service; and The Press Service.

The Directorate General of Documentation and External Security, the Presidential Guard and the State General Inspectorate are directly attached to the President of the Republic and are organized by decree of the President of the Republic. The Director General of Documentation and External Security (DGDSE), the Commander, Head of the Presidential Guard and the Chief State Inspector General, Head of the State Inspectorate are appointed by Decree of the President of the Republic. The Commander of the Presidential Guard has the advantages of a special adviser to the President of the Republic.

President Ibrahim Mainassara Bare was born May 9, 1949 in Maradi. Military training post BAC at the Military Academy of Antsirabé in Madagascar, Officer, he successively occupied the following principal functions from April 1974: - Aide de camp of President Seyni Kountché-Deputy to the Chief of Corps and then Head of the Presidential Guard Corps. He was Commander of the Niamey FAN Paratrooper Company. He served as Military Attaché at the Embassy of Niger in Paris, Minister of Public Health and Social Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Niger in Algeria, - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Niger in France, and Counselor of defense of HE Cheiffou Amadou, Prime Minister of the Transition post National Conference.

Bare served as Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, - Chief of Staff of the National Armed Forces FAN-President of the National Salvation Council, Head of State, Head of Government (January to July 1996) following the coup d'état of 27 January 1996, and finally President of the Republic, Head of State, Head of Government (July 1996 to April 1999).

On 08 March 2010 the Head of State of Niger made appointments to his cabinet and the Ministry of the Interior. Head of Squadron Djibo Salou has designated Colonel Soumaïla Garba as head of the Presidential Guard Corps and as deputy commander Douramane Mamoudou. Chief Police Commissioner Souleymane Garba is appointed Director General of the National Police (DGPN). He held the position of Advisor to the President of the National Assembly, Mahamane Ousmane, until the dissolution of the latter.
