Descendants

Zimran was the chieftain and founder of an Arab tribe, whose chief city lay to the west of Mecca. Zimran has also been tentatively identified by some with the Arabian town of Zabran, between Mecca and Medina (that is, Jeddah).[1] Ptolemy recorded this name as Zabram, the letters ‘m’ and ‘b’ being interchangeable in Arabic. The descendants of Zimran may have traveled with the sons of Medan into Persia, becoming an element of the Persian people.
