Gary Bates

Gary Bates is a former a committed evolutionist, who is now an active creation evangelist who has been involved with the creation/evolution debate since 1990. He became the head of ministry for Creation Ministries International in Australia, then in late 2009 moved to the United States and became the CEO of CMI in the United States. In November 2008 Bates became the first CEO of CMI Worldwide, the federation of CMI Ministries around the world.[1]

He is also a regular contributor to Creation Magazine, and is on the magazine's editorial staff.

Bates has a keen interest in the UFO phenomenon and wrote the Amazon.com top 50 bestseller Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection. In July 2009 he was the keynote speaker at the first Christian symposium on the UFO phenomenon held in Roswell, New Mexico.[2]

In May 2010, at the Creation Supercamp in Asheville, North Carolina, Bates encouraged the use of the term 'biblical creationists' over 'young-earth creationists'. This was later repeated in a newsletter article in September of the same year, and later published on the CMI web site [3]
