Met up with Joel and Wilbert for lunch on boxing day and I insisted to try Grub, well a wise choice made by the wise Sy. Because this place is a heaven. Hahahahaha we ordered two sides and three mains and their sides are actually nicer than their mains. *opps* You MUST TRY Mentaiko fries and Truffle Bacon Baked Egg! For their menus, please refer to their website.

For price wise, I personally find it pocket friendly. The sides are around $6 to $9 and mains are ranging from $13 to $20.



If you are sucker for mushroom and egg, you MUST get this.


Forget about garlic chilli sauce and curry sauce, fries has found his best mate, Mentaiko sauce.




Joel and I tried Wilbert's hoverboard after lunch and it was really fun. Walking is still better because it burns more fats of mine. Neverthless, if you are heading to Bishan why not take a few stops to Bishan Park and try this cafe?

Never a pink person yet I am owning so many things in pink. I bought my card holder from Japan, just 100 yen from Japan 100 yen shop. Hahahaha sorry I shouldn't state the obvious. I grabbed two, one in pink another in navy blue, and I am planning to get a pink cardholder if this goes haywire so my pink collection can continue.

I wasn't very sure what was going on in my mind when I was buying my xiaomi power bank. All I remembered was I need to get a new one to replace my old, ugly faulty power bank, then I saw a pink power bank on xiaomi website labelled SG50 Edition. This is it. I am getting this. But because the pink power bank is selling for $15.99 while the usual sliver power bank was selling for $13.99, so I got the bundle instead and sold the regular on Carousell.

Hang bought this pink Charles and Keith wallet for me because he knew I was eyeing it for the longest time. I wanted a small wallet so it can fit into my small bag. I will walk into C&K stores, trying out different shoes and steal a look at this pink wallet and I will ask him "should I buy?" I am definitely NOT hinting him to buy it for me but then since he bought it for me then I should accept it right? Hahahaha no lah he knew I won't spend this money because my wallet was perfectly ok so he just grabbed it when we went shopping at Jem. I was asking him which colour I should buy then he chose pink so it can go with my other pink items. "I have a lot of things in pink meh?" "Not a lot, just your pink power bank, pink cardholder, and your upcoming Rose Gold 6s." Why he can remember my things more than I do?

After 3 years of waiting, this baby is finally mine. Using 4s turned me into a better person. At least I am more patient, I don't smash my phone anymore, I will wait 30 seconds for my apps to be ready to use, I will restart my app after it crashes 3 times in a row; wow such a patient person I am. Even running out memory, I will reformat my phone for 2 hours. Thank you for making me a better person, my dearest 4s. But from 22 November 2015 onward, this 6s will take over your job. I am so fu*king in love with this phone. Why? Because Hang and I are having the same phone. One fun fact: Hang and I only used 3GS, 4S, 5S and now 6S (not very fun, but I like the fact that we are somehow connected hahahahaha fml for saying such thing)

Lastly I got this Sailor Chibi Moon keychain from taobao for my keys so I will not misplace it because I love this keychain more than my keys hahahahahaha. Since I have everything in pink and my eychain shall be in pink too! I love all my essentials now. I will be back once I am done admiring all of them. Till then.

Received my taobao buys yesterday and I am so happy with it especially my basic tops, Sailor Moon iPhone casing and Sailor Chibi Moon keychain. I bought a jeans from taobao last night for $17 and the quality better be as good as Dior jeans if not I will fly over to China and throw the damn jeans in their face.

Just kidding. But what was I thinking when buying that $17 jeans?

Just finished my 20th driving lesson this morning and my instructor was asking me when I want to go for my driving test. Time flies really fast. I remembered my first lesson when I was struggling with the 'massive' traffic on the road and driving on Gear 1 is super fast till now driving at 40 km/h is relatively slow.

Surprisingly, driving is quite fun however it requires a lot of skills such as how much to turn the steering wheel when making a turn, etc. Parallel parking isn't as difficult as others claimed. Guess I don't need to show my gigantic thighs to hint people to park for me. Hahahaha that is just a joke.

Can I say I am excited to take Class 4? And I realised I blog more when Sh went to field camp because I have nothing to do beside spamming him and working.

I went dinner alone at 18 Chef last night and I wanted to try different things from my usual: Baked Rice with Spicy Garlic sauce, Mushroom, Scrambled Egg and Hot Dog. I changed my sauce to Spicy Tomato, while keeping the others.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting anything from a small change after all what a small change can bring about. After waiting for 15 minutes, the waiter put my dinner in front of me, and I started eating. The first mouth was great. It is sweeter with the tomato sauce, at the same time spicy because of the chilli padi.

A small change can bring a big change in life. Now I have more choices. Change brings improvement, a better self.

Day 12: 26 March 2015

We started our day super early because we were heading out to Hakone! Hakone (箱根) is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, less than 100 kilometers from Tokyo. They are famous for hot springs, natural beauty and the view of nearby Mt. Fuji. We took Odakyu Railway from Shinjuku Station to Hakone-Yumoto Station with the Hakone Free Pass (around 5,000 YEN). The whole journey was around 2 hours, and requires one transfer at Odawara Station. After finished our bento, we slept all the way to Odawara Station.

We took a bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station to Moto-Hakone which is a 35 minute bus ride by Hakone Tozan Bus by bus line H (4-5 buses per hour, covered by the Hakone Free Pass), to explore Hakone Shrine then to take Hakone Sightseeing Boat. Hakone Shrine is five minute walk away from the Moto-Hakone boat pier. The shrine buildings are hidden in the dense forest, but are well advertised by its huge torii gates, one standing prominently in the lake and two others over the main street of Moto-Hakone. We were late to board the boat at Moto-Hakone then we fast-walked to Hakonemachi-ko to take the boat. This beautiful lake in the photo is Lake Ashinoko which we can see Mount Fuji when the weather is clear. Guess we were very lucky to have this magnificent view. Visibility tends to be better during the colder seasons of the year than in summer, and in the early morning and late afternoon hours.

From Togendai, we took Hakone Ropeway (covered by Hakone Free Pass) to Owakudani. Owakudani is an active volcanic zone where sulfurous fumes, hot springs and hot rivers can be experienced. Additionally, Owakudani has good views of Mount Fuji on clear days. Also, please check the condition before heading to Hakone because right now (13 November 2015), Owakudani is closed due to increased volcanic activity in the area.

A short walking trail (about ten minutes one way) leads from the ropeway station into the volcanic zone to a number of steam vents and bubbling pools. Here they sell eggs cooked in the naturally hot water, whose shells are blackened by the sulfur and which are said to prolong one's life by seven years.

We rushed over to Gotemba Premium Outlets located in Gotemba City at the base of Mount Fuji, not far from Hakone. This Premium Outlets is Japan's most popular outlet mall, featuring over 200 stores. I left my favourite Snidel bag there. Sigh I should have bought it. It was selling for SGD 60 which is super cheap for Japan brand. ):


We took Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus back to Shinjuku Station as the last train left before we could reach there. The one way journey costs about 2000 yen and under good traffic conditions takes about two hours. We reached Shinjuku around 10pm and we headed to Gyu-kaku 牛角 at Shibuya (omg they are available in Singapore too) for dinner. They offer Wagyu Beef but people like me will never know how to appreciate it. With fulfilling dinner, we went back to sleep. Anyway if you have the time, please visit Hakone!






Day 13: 27 March 2015

Last two days in Japan we spent it to cycle to explore Tokyo. We wanted to go Ueno Zoo but it was closed for the day so we walked around Ueno Park to see Cherry Blossom. It is cheap and convenience to cycle in Tokyo. What I love about their bicycles is that they have lock on the wheels which save us a lot hassle from putting the ugly chain into the wheel then to bicycle and cycling with an ugly lock in the basket (you know what I mean). People should bring them into Singapore to free my eyes from the ugly lock. I didn't took many photos because I am suck at cycling with one hand so I have to stop at the roadside, balancing my bicycle with my two legs and take a photo therefore please appreciate all the photos below. Hahaha





I really love how the half boiled egg complement with the tempura. Please go try it! Singapore should have this too.








We cycled to the tallest building in Japan, Tokyo Skytree but we refused to pay $20 to go up.

After returning the bike, we headed to Fu unji ramen 風雲児 also known as Best Ramen 2013 at Shinjuku but we were so disappointed. 45 minutes of queuing totally not worth. They are right about 2013, in 2015 they weren't the best ramen anymore. Okay that is mean. Maybe the ramen is not to my liking. I still prefer Ichiran or Ippudo.


Day 14: 28 March 2015

Our last day in Japan, we went shopping at Shibuya and Takeshita Street. We walked along the Shibuya street where Jon bought his Onitsuka Tiger sneaker while I roaming around Forever 21 and Disney because everything in Japan is expensive. Trust me, international brands are cheaper than their local brands. Their street label tops are priced around SGD 100 can you believe that?

Takeshita Street is one of the popular tourists destination in Tokyo, selling a lot of beautiful clothing, accessories and yummy food. If there is one dessert you have to eat in Japan, that will be crepes. Their crepes are sooooooo delicious with tons of toppings such as fruits, chocolate and even cheesecakes.

For the rest of the day, we spent it on eating, chasing for bus and plane and do our last minutes shopping at Shisui Premium Outlet located at 10 minutes drive from Narita Airport. Bring me back to Gotemba Premium Outlet where I can buy my Snidel handbag )': There are shuttle bus available from JR Tokyo Station to Shisui Premium Outlet. Please check the bus schedule and be early for the bus as it will leave on dot.











This pretty much sum up my fun-filling 14 days in Japan. Sorry for taking so long to write this travelogue and thank you Jon for planning this long trip and tolerating me. Japan is a very beautiful place, and everyone should go Japan at least once in the lifetime. I am planning to go Okinawa in 2017 but it has to depend on my financial situation hahahahaha.
