If only Uncle Napoleon was alive and could see all these attempts by the British to destroy all our symbols of national identity.
Here is the Queen's message posted on the UK embassy's website in Tehran on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution:
'It gives me great pleasure to send the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran my warmest greetings on the celebration of your National Day, together with my best wishes for good fortune and happiness in the coming year.
Elizabeth R'
Which silly ass of a diplomat advised the Queen of England that the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution is the Iranian national day??
And yet the day which should be our national day, the day which has been celebrated by Iranians for thousands of years, the day which celebrates the first day of the spring, the rebirth of the nature and is beyond religious and political sectarianism, the day that marks the beginning of the Iranian New Year, Nowrooz, the New Day, according to the Mayor of London's office belongs first and foremost to the Turks!!

God the British government at all levels increasingly seems really deranged to me: from Lord Ahmed's successful censorship of Wilders to this!
I hate to use this word, but are they all a bunch of "koskhols?"
This is a disgrace. On the one hand I was so happy that this is celebrated officially in Britian. On the other hand they call it Turkish.
Don;t get me wrong, New Roz was celebrated by 100's of nations in middle east before rise of Islam. I would be happy to see even all nations of the world to celebrate that. However in todays Turkey, celebrating Nowruz - as the Kurdish do - is forbidden. The turks dont even identify themselves with Nowruz, so how comes Noruz is Turkish? This is a slap in the face of all Kurds and also Iranians as being not mentioned as the motherland of Nowruz.
Some voices say we should go and celebrate others say boycott it. i don't know whats right, but we have to send them an email or something to let them know about this mistake.

I think to reciprocate Her Majesty's impeccable command of international protocol,
the Iranian diaspora ought to send an equally heart-warming message
congratulating the Queen on April 25th, the anniversary of
Oliver Cromwell's birthday ! :)

Queen comes across as a know-nothing idiot herself. Shame on UK
On the other hand, when our national government doesn't insist on preserving and celebrating our traditional feasts -- how can we expect others to do so?
It is not enough to conquer a nation with Tanks and guns you need to make them forget their identity. That is why the British have always tried to deny our pre-Islamic identity and instead say the Islamic Republic is the true manifestation of Iranian nation.
These messages you have posted here are in line with this same British imperialist policy that wants to not just conquer our oil fields and our resources but our hearts and minds.
She may know something we don't, what if one day she is forced to wear a burqa in Islamic Republic of Britain, only to hide her lovely teeth.
I blame the Iranian exeats who having lived in England for so many years have not organised themselves and celebrated Nurooz like they should have.
The Kurdish community in North London are organised.
They have their own community halls, young and old age support group systems, regular social group gatherings and are a force to be reckoned with but we Iranians - are divided and shamed into being a nobody in this melting pot of a city.
Even Polish and Somalis have more social and political presence than Iranians.
Off course there was a time that Iranians had a presence in London. In Harrods, Oxford street and the various casinos...
excellent point, saggezard. LoL
Who care's about a British website. Why don't yall checkout how Newruz has it mainstream television in America.
Stephen Colbert's show aired a hilarious, but somewhat factual clip about newruz and Ahmadinejad.

i saw the pics of this stupid Ojalan related gathering on ayatolagh BBC website. what the fuck s going on in UK?
I believe Chauchescu was knighted by the Queen.
As usual you are right azarmehr, beutiful Iran should be ours and is ours.
The Problem is NevRUZ, is hijacked by the POLITICAL TERRORIST GROUP PKK, How can all communities celebrate together, when you have this group waving flags and pictures around of Jailed killers, and leaders, what’s this GOT DO TO Nevruz. 30000 Turkish People have been killed by this Terrorist Group over the past 20 years. Turkey does allow these celebrations’, the reason it used to crack down on them is because the celebrations would turn violent, youths would smash windows, set cars on fire provoke the police and communities, WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT THE POLICE TO DO, SIT BACK AND WATCH OR BAN THEM FOR the safety of the communities.
AGAIN WHEN THE WORLD TRIES TO CELLEBRATE NEVRUZ, THE TERRORIST GROUP PKK HIJACK THE EVENT AND TURN INTO A POLITICAL RALLY. THIS DOESN'T NOT BELONG TO THE PKK BUT ISLAMIC WORLD IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND NOT A FESTIVAL FOR PKK. THE WORLD MUST KNOW THIS...
Hail Islamic World Turkey!! Hail not Islamic Ataturk!! Hail Turkey without Nevruz oppressing kurds not just pkk!!
