Free crochet snowflake patterns

I had made quite a few crochet snowflake Christmas tree ornaments some years back and I had posted a picture of our Christmas tree on our Facebook page at Joli.Creations. I got some orders for the crochet snowflakes that were seen in the picture but then I could not even remember which of the free crochet snowflake patterns I had used. So I thought I would post about them so that it would be easier not only for me to find the free snowflake crochet designs but also for all my followers and readers.

Star Christmas Tree Ornament

Star Christmas Tree Ornament Free Pattern
I have made a whole lot of snowflakes already and for  change this is a star Christmas tree ornament in crochet. I pulled the points stiff while starching to get this pointed effect or you could leave it rounded if you chose to. I found this design on a quaint blog here. Have fun making it; it's pretty easy.

There are so many free snowflake patterns on the Net to try out that I will never be able to finish making them all! I simply have to choose from the so many that I find. I have starched this one a bit differently from the original snowflake design so it does look a wee bit different. You can find the snowflake crochet design right here.

Yet another snowflake design

Snowflake free crochet pattern
I got this pretty snowflake pattern from a Dutch blog; there are even more snowflake patterns there but I liked the first one. The original design there has 6 points but I made a mistake at the beginning and ended up with 5 points instead! Anyway, mine doesn't look too bad. You will get the free crochet snowflake pattern right here.

Another Snowflake crochet pattern

After trying out so many snowflakes, I have found that this is a pretty one too. I think I could have taken better care while starching it though especially at the center; it has turned a little lopsided. This one measures about 3" when measured from a point to opposite point. You can get this free crochet snowflake pattern here.

I have made some other snowflakes already and this is another I have added to my collection. It is approximately 3" in size and looks quite pretty and dainty. If you are looking for the free pattern for the snowflake, you can find it here. There are actually three snowflake patterns there but the one I tried is Snowflake A.

Pretty snowflake pattern

I have been making a lot of snowflakes of late and looking at a whole lot of different free crochet patterns for Christmas tree ornaments. This pretty snowflake works out to be 3" x 3" but if you are looking for a smaller snowflake then you can still use the same free crochet pattern but stop after a couple of rows to get a smaller size like 1.5" x 1.5". Get the free snowflake pattern here.

Snowflake ornaments in crochet look really pretty on the Christmas tree. I made quite a few and this is one of them. They need to be starched to add stiffness but if you store them well in a box or tin they can stay good for several years. I have my crochet snowflake ornaments for seven years already.
There were several free crochet patterns for snowflakes but I chose the one here. Have fun crocheting it. I did!

Crochet angel free pattern

If you remember I had posted a link to the free crochet pattern for angel ornament in one of my earlier posts. They were about 4" high. The head does take a while to make as it is full of tiny scs but once that is done it isn't all that bad. Next comes the starching. I will be writing a post on how to starch them sometime in the future. It took some trail and error before I came up with the right proportion and kind of starch I used before I got them right the first time. Will be sharing it with you in a later post.

A friend wanted bigger angel ornaments for her son's wedding so she could use them to decorate the pews so here is one of them I made using acrylic yarn in off-white. They stood at 9" tall and required no starching at all as the yarn was pretty thick. Yippee!!

Ice Skates Christmas Ornaments

When I saw the ice skates Christmas tree ornaments on the Net I simply loved them. And so I was hunting for the white paper clips or you might choose to use the plain steel ones. There was a shortage of white in my box and I ended up using ones that matched with the colour of my ice skates. My eldest sister too made a few and everyone really liked them. Hope you like them too. They are an easy pattern to make and you don't need to be a crochet pro.If you are interested in making your own Christmas tree ornaments, then you will find the pattern here.

Christmas Tree 2013

Christmas Tree Decor
We always try to put up our Christmas tree on the 1st of December but it doesn't always happen. After all the trouble one has to take to put it up, display the Christmas decor and hang the Christmas tree ornaments, you might as well have it up for longer so that you can sit back and admire it all. Most of our Christmas tree ornaments have been made over the years and so our collection has built up. Our Christmas tree ornaments are handmade but you will see a few ready-made ones that friends have given as gifts some of them from Portugal or the UK. I have made the crochet snowflakes and stars, stockings, ice skates, Santa Claus and the tiny snowmen. My sister has made the eggheads. She is really good at them and takes great pride in executing her wealth out of waste project. Some of the eggheads even sport some of her hair ;)

Free crochet pattern for snowmen

Tiny crochet snowmen free pattern
Christmas is fast approaching and I am busy with so many orders that sometimes I wonder whether I will have enough time to make things for myself! :( So I have decided not to take orders in December henceforth; it simply puts too much pressure on me as I have a full-time job and can do this only at nights and weekends when I have time to spare. Last year I had made the sitting snowman and also the teeny snowmen in rainbow colours but most of them got given away and the ones we have left are red, green blue and yellow which we had put up on our Christmas tree. I had put a picture of our Christmas tree 2013 with all the crochet Christmas ornaments on our Facebook page and so the orders started pouring in for Christmas 2014. I started working on them only in October over weekends and here are some of the snowmen that I made. It takes me a half hour just to make all the crochet parts and then another half hour to assemble them and sew on the beads for eyes and buttons. They make wonderful Christmas decor in crochet and you can hang them on your Christmas tree, pin them on to your curtains or leave them here and there in your homes. You can be sure they will be much appreciated. some of these are going as gifts, one set of snowmen will go to my dear godmother and the other I have already given to my mother's doctor; she really takes good care of her health and I am so very grateful to her. She was really thrilled. If you would like to crochet them yourselves, you will find the link to the pattern in my earlier post here : free crochet pattern for small snowmen

Snowman free crochet pattern

It's been quite a while since I last blogged. I made a lot of cute little snowmen last Christmas but I simply did not get down to blogging about them.I searched the Net and found quite a lot of free crochet instructions for snowman but finally I settled for this one. It was really fun making them in different rainbow colours but I decided that the blue, green, yellow and red ones look best so kept these for our Christmas tree; they make lovely Christmas tree ornaments. The others got given away as gifts. They caught everyone's eye and I have quite a few orders for next Christmas already.

This pretty crochet angel ornament is made from one of the free patterns that you can find here. This picture does not do it justice but I am not very good with the camera; I am still learning. :) Like I said in my earlier post of the other angel ornament the most tedious part of this free angel crochet pattern is the head and the rest is pretty simple. Check out the other free crochet angel designs.

Angel Ornaments free crochet pattern

I first made these pretty crochet angel ornaments way back in 2007 when I found this free angel pattern on the Net here. I made quite a few then and sold some. Every time I make some of these Christmas angel ornaments some good friends visit at Christmas and they get given away. For now, I do not have any for our home so before Christmas comes round I have to make a couple of these pretty crochet Christmas angels for ourselves. I take about 4 hours to makes each of these crochet angels, it is the head part of this crochet angel pattern that gets to you but when you are done with it you go through the rest of the free angel ornament pattern like a breeze. Enjoy making your Christmas crochet angels and have a Merry Christmas! You may check out our other Christmas decor patterns or Christmas ornament patterns or just Christmas angels.
