• NIPER-Mohali was created as a Centre of Excellence to impart higher education, research and development in Pharmaceutical Sciences.


• It was declared as an Institute of National Importance by the Govt. of India through an act of Parliament on 26th June, 1998.


• It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and Commonwealth Universities.


• In 2007, Govt. of India established six new NIPERs. NIPER-Hyderabad is one among 6 new NIPERs.


• NIPER-Hyderabad is established in an area of 1,01,000 Sft. including Auditorium (4,000 sft) and is located at the former R&D Centre of IDPL, Balanagar, Hyderabad.
