It's late in the afternoon in a small coastal town somewhere in Sicily. People are walking up and down the lungomare. All of the sudden, the weather of March in all its unpredictability takes everyone by surprise, as a storm breaks upon the town. The promenade is scattered with people trying to get out of the rain.
A man and a woman rush into a nearby gateway for shelter. The couple stands there for a moment. Suddenly, the man presses the woman against the wall with a kiss.
-Ma che fai! Ci vedono! "What are you doing? Everyone can see us!" she hisses, but then smiles, as the hesitation and timidity in her voice is overrun by sensations of excitement and euphoria. She is married, but not to him.
-Ci nasconderà pioggia. "The rain will hide us," he whispers, with a burning in his eyes, and kisses her again.
