Silly Playful Fabulous + The Scrapbooking Soiree!

Sorry for the delay in posting this month's Scrapbooking Soiree, things have been a little hectic! But I'm getting back on track now.

Before I share the details of September's winner, and open up the October Soiree, I've got a new layout to show you. Hopefully it will give you some inspiration and make you even more keen to join in the party!

Silly, Playful, Fabulous:

Supplies: Pink Paislee Portfolio 'Stupendous' Paper, Ephemera, Photograms, and Clear Stamps. Mr Huey 'Clay' Mist. My Mind's Eye All is Bright Buttons, and Winter Wonderland Enamel Dots. A few clear gems, yellow ink, a black journaling pen, 3D foam dots.

I've been having fun playing with the Pink Paislee Portfolio prize that I won, and this is one of the layouts I've made so far. I love how easy it was to create a really fun page, to match the pictures of my daughter acting silly in a photo shoot!

I tied embroidery thread around a couple of arrows to enhance the dressing up theme and add another texture.

I liked that I could make my title out of the Portfolio ephemera. I struggle with titles sometimes but these three words were perfect to describe my daughter in the pictures!

What do you think? I was inspired a little to use the yellow-grey-blue combo by Saskia's layout here from the last Soiree, it's such a lovely mix of colours. Have you ever tried it?

Now for The Scrapbooking Soiree:

There were some lovely layouts last month, check them out here if you missed them!

Sadly though, the number of entries has been dropping each month, instead of growing as I'd hoped. I'll only keep it going for another month or two if this continues. So, if you've ever thought about joining in but forgotten - please take part! Remember you can link up any scrapbooking project from the 8th of the current month to the 7th of the following month. So if you've already posted something on or since the 8th of October, you can link it up straight away! It can be linked to other challenges. And you'll be in with a chance to win a voucher to your favourite scrap store!

And, if you think it's a great idea, but you aren't able to join in yourself right now, then you can still tell others about it by pinning, tweeting, or sharing on facebook (links available at the end of this post).

And the winner of September's Soiree was:

That's Bonnie! Congratulations Bonnie, you've won a £5 Gift Voucher (or closest equivalent in your local currency) to your favourite Scrap Store! Send me an email at jennifergrace (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk and let me know where you'd like the voucher for!

Below is the linky for this month's Soiree. Please join in, and you'll be in with a chance to win a £5 voucher (or closest equivalent in your local currency) to your favourite scrap store! Full details of the Scrapbooking Soiree are here. And please stop by and check out at least one other link after adding your own - it's a great way to meet new bloggers and have some fun!

Cheers! x

The Scrapbooking Soiree - September!

Welcome to this month's linky party, to share your scrapbooking projects - along any theme!

Last month's links were all equally intriguing. I really liked the bird washi tape and looped ribbon on Saskia's page, the colours and layering on Lea's layout is just so pretty, and I loved the kraft doggies on Julie's page, plus I liked hearing about her colour-matching process! Thanks to everyone who joined the party. The winner of the Bo Bunny mini-album is....

That's Alison from Life in the Slow Lane, with this cute, summery, doggy-paddle layout:

Alison, please email me your postal address at jennifer grace (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk, with the subject heading 'Prize Winner' and I'll get the album sent to you!

And now it's party time again! Link up any scrapbooking projects that you blog about (or upload to an online gallery) between 8th of September and 7th of October - no back-linking to projects posted earlier! For more details on the party see here.

I'm trying something new for the prize this month - instead of a postal prize, I'm offering one randomly chosen linker a £5 Gift Voucher (or closest equivalent in you local currency) to the scrap store of your choice. I'm hoping this will be better for any international or digi-scrapper linkers, as well as still pleasing local paper scrappers - let me know what you think!

Thanks for joining in with the Soiree, it's nice to see you at the party! Please remember to visit at least one other link once you've added your own - let's get to know each other! x

The Scrapbooking Soiree - August!

Sorry this month's Soiree is a little late - Disneyland Paris distracted me! But here we go for this month's party!

If you don't know what the Soriee is all about, then check out the details here

I was so impressed with all the links in July's Soiree, I was especially inspired by a few of them. There were several Graduation layouts, but this one by Dogmatix stood out because the photo is similar to one I have of me on my graduation day, and it made me think I should really scrapbook my own! I'd also like to make a motherhood page like this one by Bonnie, she fitted lots of photos and journaling on to one beautiful page. And ScrappyJacky's street party album here made me want to fill up my 8x8 albums, and also made me want to organise a street party!

The winner of last month's prize (a 6x6 Fancy Pants 'Beach Bum' paper pad) was randomly chosen:

So the winner was Mel J, with some great layouts including this one - I love the painty swirls:

Thanks for joining in Mel! Please email me your postal address at jennifer grace (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk, and I'll get the pad sent out to you!

Now you can all start to add your links for this month. Please only link projects that you've posted on your blog or gallery between 8th of August and 7th of September - no linking back to earlier projects! If you join in this month you'll be in with a chance to win this Bo Bunny Chipboard 'Family' Album:

If you'd like to Link Up, so that others can see your work, but you don't want to win the album, then just let me know in the comments!

Thanks so much for joining in with my Soiree, I hope you'll party with me this month! Please remember to visit at least one other link once you've added your own - it's not a party if we don't chat to each other! x

The Scrapbooking Soiree - A Link Party - July!

Thanks so much to everyone who linked up their projects to my Scrapbooking Soiree last month. I was so excited to see the entries, and I found a few blogs I hadn't seen before! If you missed last months entries, see them here.

I'm going to keep hosting this monthly party, for now at least!

AND, because I love giving you stuff, I'm going to draw a random winner from all the links each month to win a little prize! From last month's entries the winner was:

That's ScrappyJacky! Here's her lovely page:

Click on her name (above) to learn more about the layout. Jacky - get in touch at jennifer grace (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk, and I'll send you little surprise package!

For those of you who don't know what the Scrapbooking Soiree is about, here's the details:

I love sharing my projects, and I've been looking for more places to share my scrapbooking. There's lots of online challenges that I could join in with (and often do), and I know there are places on forums for bloggers to link up their latest post (which I also do now and then), or galleries to post projects in. But what about when I just create a layout that's not to do with a challenge, or when I don't have time to read lots of other people's blogs, so I don't feel right leaving my blog on a forum list?

I've looked for a link party to join up with, but there aren't any (that I can find) which focus on scrapbooking, though there's lots about other crafts, and diy, recipes, etc. I like browsing those lists, but I'd also like to be able to browse some scrapbooking links, as well as linking my own. I know there's Pinterest, and lots of other places to find inspiration, but I always wonder what blogging gems I'm missing!

I hope I'm not the only one that would like another place to browse for scrapbooking projects, and to link up our own. So I'm hosting a scrapbooking link party right here!

Welcome to The Scrapbooking Soiree!

This monthly link party will start on the 8th of each month (number 8 is my favourite number, but that's a post for another day!), and it will go live in the evening, about 8pm England time. Any scrapbook projects blogged about between the 8th of the current month, and the 7th of the following month, can be added to the linky. Your post MUST contain a scrapbooking project - ie. a project containing photos and/or journaling (so it can be mini-album or wall-art that is scrapbook related, as well as layouts), but no cards or home decor etc. There can be other projects (eg cards) on the same post, as long as there is one scrapbook project there too. The project can be linked up to other challenges / classes / events too.

You can post up to 4 links a month to different posts of yours. It would be great if you could include a link back to this party, but it's not a requirement. The only other thing I ask is that you visit at least one other link, preferably a blog you wouldn't normally visit, and try to leave a comment too. It would be good if you can visit more if you're able to!

So there we go... I hope you'd like to join the party. The prize this month will be:

A Fancy Pants 'Beach Bum' 6x6" Paper Pad! Just link up your scrapbooking project by 7th August 2012 at 11.59pm GMT to be in the draw to win!

Of course, if you'd like to link up your projects, but you're not interested in the prize, then just let me know in the comments.

Happy crafting, x

The Scrapbooking Soiree - A Link Party!

Hello! Today I'm trying something new for Jennifer's Jumbles... a link party!

And I like browsing those lists, but I'd also like to be able to browse some scrapbooking links, as well as linking my own. I know there's Pinterest, and lots of other places to find inspiration, but I always wonder what blogging gems I'm missing!

I hope I'm not the only one that would like another place to browse for scrapbooking projects, and to link up our own. So I've decided to try hosting a scrapbooking link party right here, and see how it goes!

Welcome to The Scrapbooking Soiree!

For now, this is going to be a monthly link party, starting on the 8th of each month (number 8 is my favourite number, but that's a post for another day!), and it will go live in the evening, about 8pm England time.

Of course, all that's assuming I get anyone else linking up, I guess we'll see! I'll link my post from earlier to get the ball rolling, and then just cross my fingers and wait! If you think it's a good idea, please link up, and tell others about it! x
