Assault upon a citizen.

--James Cushing appeared before the Mayor yesterday on the charge of being drunk and knocking a citizen down. Cushing admitted that he was drunk, and said he was ready for the trial. Mr. Thomas Gray said that he was passing up Main street, near the Old Market, when he saw the accused and another man, who immediately fell upon and knocked him down. He gave them no provocation. The Mayor required Cushing to give security in the sum of three hundred dollars to keep the peace for twelve months.
