The New Opera House.
--Mr. George Kunkel, the former well-known manager of the Richmond Theatre, has been in the city for two days past on business connected with his Opera House, which he proposes to erect on the site occupied by the Mechanics' Institute, on Ninth street, between Main and Franklin. He has endeavored to lease the Richmond Theatre without success, the owner holding it at a price altogether beyond the means of managers in these modern times. The stock of the new establishment has been liberally subscribed for, and Mr. Kunkel expects to have it ready and open for the amusement of the public in fifty or sixty days. We bespeak for him the liberal encouragement of our citizens.
