Meeting of Government clerks.

--On Friday evening last, the clerks in the various departments of Government held a meeting at the Second Auditor's office for the purpose of considering some measure by which their present pay may be increased. A committee, composed of one from each branch of the Government, was appointed to confer with Congress and present their claims. On Saturday they visited Congress in conformity with the requirements of resolutions; but of the result of their interview we have not yet been apprised.
