Attempted burglary.

--An attempt was made on Monday night to break into Michael Wall's store on the corner of First and Broad streets. A chisel had been driven into the door, when Mr. Wall, being aroused by the noise, hoisted his window above and frightened the thief off. He fired two loads of a revolver at the fellow, but failed to hit him. The chisel was left behind, and may lead to the detection of the rogue.
