The Yankee Stock of arms.

--The U. S. Government has now on hand in the arsenals 700,000 stand of arms, 500,000 of which are effective, and the number is rapidly increasing. There are also on hand 2,400 24 and 32 pounder smooth bore cannon, which are rapidly being converted into effective guns by the rifling process.
