Committed to jail.

--An ill looking pauper, named William Moore, made his appearance before the Mayor on Saturday to answer the charge of being a person of dissolute habits and without any visible means of support. Moore had just left the poor-house, and manifested some little desire to be sent back there; but the city jail was deemed the best place for him till some other disposition could be made of him, and he was therefore committed till Monday, when his case will be finally attended to.
