--The Mobile News gives the particulars of the death of Garret Joyce, who was recently killed by lightning at the depot in that city. Deceased was a watchman, and was proceeding up the road with a lantern in his hand; an engineer, who was on an engine about thirty yards distant, observed the flash and saw the man fall; he run up to him and spoke, but all the answer he could understand was, "take me home," or "take me away," and the man died instantly. His hat was torn into ribbons, and the lantern disappeared entirely, with the exception of a piece of glans about a quarter of an inch in size, which was found had gone through his coat, vest and shirt, and made a very slight scratch. No other mark was discovered.
