Redeeming postage stamps in New York.

--The counting of soiled postage stamps, which were a few months since deposited at the New York post office for redemption, has been completed, and nearly nine-tenths of the whole number have been so redeemed. Notice has been issued to the owners of the remaining one-tenth to come up and receive current fonds for their deposits. The amount of claims of depositors is $260,000, one fifth of the whole number having been thrown out on account of being marked stamps. The counting of these stamps would have occupied one man for the space of two years and a half.
