The General Assembly.
--This body will convene to day in the Capital at 12 o'clock, pursuant to adjournment. In the House the first business will be the election of a Speaker, to supply the vacancy created by the resignation of Gen. Jas. L. Kemper. Both Houses will be next occupied in the selection of a Senator to succeed Hon. Wm. Ballard Preston. It is highly probable there will be no quorum in either branch on the first day.
