Theatrical Provost.

--The Provost Marshal for Alexandria, Va., is Major George W. Gile, formerly a second class actor at the Marshall Theatre in this city. He is a Major in the 88th Pennsylvania regiment, and has been presented with a sword costing $800 by ‘"the merchants of Alexandria,"’ as a testimonial of their esteem for him as a ‘"gentleman" ’ The ‘"gentleman"’ past will do.
