--Mr. Wm. B. Harrison, of Upper Brandon, Prince George county, learning that there is a plan on foot for raising a subscription to build an iron-clad steamer for the protection of Richmond, and the shores of James River, offers to aid in the undertaking to the extent of one thousand dollars, if the necessary amount can be raised.
