Sterling Coupons of Virginia.
--The London correspondent of the N. Y. Commercial says:‘ It was notified yesterday at Messrs. Barings that they had received no orders to pay the dividend on the sterling coupons of the Virginia 5 per cents, which fell due on the 1st inst. This intimation was, of course, calculated to damage the reputation of that State, and of the Confederate cause generally; but it has just transpired that the Hansa has brought the required remittances, and it is understood that the payment will be advertised the day after to-morrow (Monday) in the usual way. Looking at the manner in which the calamities of the civil war fall upon Virginia, even your readers will give the old State credit for the effort she has thus made, and which must have involved great, sacrifices to maintain her external honor.
