The Post Office.
A short time since the Examiner had a very just complaint relative to the want of force in the Post-Office in this city. That complaint was but the complaint of the community at large. There are not enough hands in the office to open the mails, and consequently it is not unfrequent that mails received here at 3 o'clock P. M. are not opened until the office is closed at night, and the letters and papers received by it are not distributed until next morning! At the present time there are very many people here who are personally interested in the events transpiring in the West and North west, and they desire to receive their letters as soon as possible after they reach the city. To wait until next day is calculated to try their patience not a little. The delay is at improper as it is annoying. The Post-Office Department ought to assign to the Richmond Office the force required by the large increase of business thrown upon it. The delays we speak of are out of the question.
