Ashland Artillery.
--An Artillery company has been formed by Maj. Pichegru Woolfolk, jr., of Hanover, by volunteers from the militia of that county. It has been commissioned, and numbers sixty-five men. It is desired to increase it to one hundred and four. The commissioned officers are, Captain, Pichegru Woolfolk, jr.; 1st Lieutenant, Bernard Meredith; 2d Lieutenant, Dr. C. J. Terrill; 3d Lieutenant, James B. Gardiner. The company will rendezvous at Ashland on Monday next, and march thence to camp at Howard's Grove, near this city.
The Ashland Artillery, thus bravely begun by the gallant Major Woolfolk, is to be uniformed by the county, and the citizens have, in addition, subscribed $5,000 to aid in its equipage. It will be, therefore, very well equipped, and will, we are sure, do honor to old Hanover for its discipline and for its heroism in the field. Those who desire to join this company can do so by applying at the camp after Monday, or at Ashland on that day.
