Richmond Philharmonic Association.
--This society, which has been in harmonious existence for nearly two years, gave their annual entertainment, to a select number of friends, at their room, Mechanics' Institute, on Thursday night last. During the evening a number of choice glees and chorusses were sung by the members, under the direction of Professor Ericson. Professors Hewitt, Crouch and Metz, also added to the entertainment. Mr. Crouch sung his popular song, "Kathleen Mavorneen," with an effect-peculiar to himself, while Mr. Hewitt gave his patriotic and stirring song of "The Old Elm Tree," with unusual spirit. The programme was wound up with some of the good things of the season.--Speeches were made in response to toasts, by J. S. Griswold, Esq., (President,) Dr. Bricken, N. Crouch, and J. H. Hewitt; and will humor and good feeling reigned until a last hour of the night, when the members and their guests retired, much pleased with the events of the night. We understand it is the intention of the Association to give a public concert shortly.
