A bold attempt at Robbery.

--A party of four men went to the house of Mr. Morgan Walker, situated about eight miles from Independence, Mo., Tuesday night, to demand of him his money and negroes. Mr. Walker having been notified the day before that such a demand would be made, called some of his neighbors to his assistance. As soon as the robbers made their appearance they were fired upon, and one was killed and another wounded.--The wounded man and the other two of the party made their escape. The Sheriff of the county and a posse of men are in pursuit of them. The robbers are from Kansas, and were betrayed by a man whom they had pressed into aiding them.
