Cruelty to an Orphan boy.

--At Ballston Spa, N. Y., John Blake, a farmer, was fined $1,000, for cruelty towards an orphan boy, which he had adopted from the Utica Orphan Asylum. He not only whipped the boy on his bare body in the most barbarous manner, and inflicted other fearful corporeal punishments, but kept him short of food, and even made him eat mice and squirrels, raw and unskinned.
